My CO2 canister is smaller, (but now I need a bigger one  ) and I now that our local welding shop (where I BOUGHT the darn thing) is out of business, I have to drive 45 min to the fire extinguisher business, and they'll refill it for me.

Just remember to flow it SLOWLY! Otherwise there's too much CO2 all at once, and you're actually causing the ratties pain. :( You want them to SLEEP first, then, asphyxiated.....Sadly, the first time I did it, I did it wrong. But I know better now. Gasping is too much, too fast. :tears:

Can you buy tanks in sizes that are in between the mammoth size and the 20oz dinky size? Will a scuba tank work?

Please forgive the stupid question, but why the other container, tube and water?? And is that website a good place to pick-up the canister and coiled remote? :):):)

the second container, water and tubing is supposed to prevent any air from going back into the kill container.

CO2 is heavier than air , so it settles on the bottom , and when you fill the container it forces the oxygen out through the tube , the water creates a seal so the air can't go back up the tube.

Another good source for CO2 is your local "gas" supplier. Not the gas company, but the local company that supplies oxygen, acetylene, welding gas, etc. They will fill large bottles at their place. They will even rent you a bottle.

I found this on the initial search...Will my coiled attachment fit on this? Would you suggest steel or aluminum? I see some aluminums on ebay for a cheaper price...

It should all co2 tanks are same size attachment/fill stations along with same threading. Be sure to ask seller for more detail on it.
