Sometimes not being able to afford has to do with budgeting. I can budget $15 for mice/rats every week. I can't normally budget in $60 or $75 or more up front or the freezer space or the potential wastage down the line.

On a side note, I have found a couple local breeders on Craigslist. They don't advertise all the time, so you might want to go back a couple weeks before deciding you can't find one.
