raise the tank off of the ground. Like bottle caps in all corners for example. And the max it should get is 95* and thats MAX. I have mines sitting on wood nothing at all :) Trust me 95* is not as hot as you would think its warm :)

As long as the snake is getting the proper humidity and heat it shouldnt realy mater if its uth or over head heat. As long as one side has a cooler side and the other a basking spot.

I think it does matter if belly heat is better then over head heat. I mean if u can supply the belly heat then u should. Imo over head should only be used to raise ambient temp

Do you have a probed thermometer to measure your temps inside the enclosure?

To clarify, your herpstat probe should go on the outside bottom of the UTH.

I would think about getting her another hide like that exo terra rock hide you have and only using those two. Place one right over the uth (your hotspot at 90-92*) and place the other on the opposite side (your cool side at 80-82*).

You can put the other few hides in there as well, but she shouldn't have to choose security over thermoregulation.

it has 2 probes for controlling 2 things. one prode is on the inside back corner of the wall getting the air temp, and thats controlling the ceramic heater on top the cage. the other is on the bottom of the cage right above the uth on the outside the cage. the cage is notched out for the probe to fit there. its 1/2 think cdpvc.

Yes but are you using THERMOMETERS with probes to measure temps in the cage? More specifically, inside the cage above the UTH.

the probes are thermometers. one is the cage. other is outside ... kinda... also have a digital thermometer over the area the uth is with a humidity gauge on it. and i have a non contact thermometer i use to check all over the cage with pretty regular. i found you on facebook and tried to add you. hope you dont mind.
