I keep my young snakes in 6 qt size tubs for awhile also. temps need to be constant at this age being they are growing so fast. I use paper towels and the select a size towels which is basically half sheets work great in 6 quart tubs. they fit with no folding. They are also right at the heat with paper towels. I offer my snakes food every 3 to 4 days and that means, I'm cleaning the tubs all the time. I can clean a tub in less than 30 seconds when using paper towels. this is a real plus at hatchling time, I check the 6 qt tubs every day for cleaning.
