Depends how large. If it's a hatchling, you can try better.

i wold go with a BCI boa, or blood/short tail python. thats just my personal preference if I was going to get a bigger snake. Possibly a jungle/jag carpet too. brazilian rainbow boa would be good too if you can meet the housing requirements.

    Carpet!!
I have 2 Irian Jayas and they are mostly always out, rarely hide. They have wonderful personalities, are very 'friendly' and easy to handle. Nice display snakes, all around nice snakes!
My son has a BRB and the stupid thing, albeit beautiful, is always hiding :)

I'm surprised no one has said Hogg Island boa. They are great next step. I of course went straight for a burm, but it's ultimately what you like best. I recommend a hogg though. Carpets are great too, bloods can be tricky but awesome. Have fun with what ever you choose! ~Caylan.S.~

Depends, what kind of animal are you looking for?

    Active snake? Lazy?

    Big snake? Small snake?

    Arboreal? Terrestrial?

a borneo is as good as any pet if that is what you want and provide it with what it needs to feel safe and secure. Great snakes if cared for properly and a definite step up from a bp.
