I agree with her...I have 4 bci and two dums and I love em all the same. If you can hold the snakes before you buy them you'll know which is for you. You'll just get that feeling...this is the one...and you'll have your new lil baby.

I own both. I agree BCI's are alot more curious. If I'm moving around or in their enclosures they will come right up to the front of it to check things out and see what's going on. As for my Dumerils, he is pretty mellow and easy going, fairly active for a while each night, that is, until he smells rat. Then he becomes some kind of demon possessed, psycho maniac. I wish I had a video camera so I could film him because it's hard to describe how insane he gets. I have to use the snake hook to raise his lid and 24" feed tongs to stay out of his strike range. I can't believe the speed and power he strikes with. He was so fast tonight that he literally ripped the rat out of the tongs before I could release them. I still had a chunk of skin and fur left in the tongs. But once he eats, he goes right back into chill mode for the next 10 days.
If you can't decide which one you want more... get both. Or go with a Peruvian Longicauda (BCL)
