Gee, just read through the whole thread. Am I the only Dumeril's fan? I honestly do not understand why this species isn't much more popular than it is. I was talking to a friend of mine that owns two reptile pet stores and he can't understand it either. They are freaking awesome animals!

I'm a ball python girl but I wouldn't mind owning a blood. So I vote blood!

carpet or borneo's both rock:banana:borneo's or blood's are a little more work ,but well worth it. Dumeril's are cool to and only get about 5 to 6 feet. One of the coolest snake that know one as said is brazilian rainbow boa's. Beautiful snakes that don't get but about 7 feet.:gj::gj:

    To easy, Carpet Python.

They are the most common recommendation I've seen for the herper looking to move up to something bigger (within the 6-8 ft range). Plus you can get an excellent example for just a few hundred bucks.

A lot of people will say to get this or that, but personally, I would not recommend a SD Retic. I think they are beautiful and wanted one too, but after doing a lot of research, I figured I was not ready for a Retic.

So I got a Carpet and I'm very glad I did! She is awesome!

Just my 2 cents worth, but good luck with whatever you decide to get.

Yes you do. They are still a retic. Not a big deal though from what I've heard.

You can't go wrong with a Dumeril's Boa. They are great eaters, stay under your 7 ft requirement, usually a great temperment, very good looking too.

Why haven't you gone out and bought one?;)

I heard dwarf retics are cool but I never had one. I would go with a beautiful hoggs island boa. Look for a quality one. My experience with them was a great one.:)
