Bruce I have room in Massachusetts if you ever get down this way. Also let me know when you are ready to start a new collection. I would love to help with some donations.

Bruce, I'm so sorry to hear about the fire. I'm very happy that you both made it out ok, but I can only imagine what you're going through. My thoughts are with you both.

    Bruce,

I just have no idea what to say. My heart goes out to you for your horrible loss. I think of all the posts I've seen from you about the snakes you have rescued and the WCs you have gradually brought around and the little pastel girl you tried to save last season and the rats you loved so much. I can't imagine how much you are hurting right now.

Thank heavens you are ok, and that is what is most important, but I'm sure it is a small consolation in the face of your loss.

    A very quick update.

I found the little dog a foster home already.

Part of doing rescues, you make contacts with good people. I left a message with the one animal rescue I trust and they called me back with a home already set up for her.

She is surrounded by people that are loving her to death and she is happy. She has been shaved and bathed and she is the sweetest girl.

Her teeth are rotten, she has cataracts, ear mites, scars, and has been bred at least twice. She lost her front teeth trying to chew her way out of the apt, and she is going to the vet and then to her new home immediately.

If there is one small beauty in this, it is this sweet dog.

We are still waiting to get in, and it is getting harder and harder to keep it together. As I said I am taking my animals out before anyone else does. That is going to be the worst moment of my life.

Dear Bruce...I've said all I know how to say in the mod forum.... :tears:

But I did want to let all the folks here that love you know that we'll be setting up a relief effort for the BP.net community to participate in. I don't have any details yet...but I wanted folks to know that such IS in the works. I'll be in touch. :grouphug:

Still praying, unceasingly for you and Jerome!

    Bruce,

I've already commented once - but the overwhelming outpouring of love to you and Jer makes me so proud of this community. Know this - we love and care for you - and we will do whatever we can to help you through this process. I know that each one of us wishes that we were there in person to help you, but please know that we are all with you in spirit!

It sounds like once you've had the chance to get settled again, and grieve your losses, that when you're ready, there are many people who are willing to help you re-build your collection (myself included). We could certainly use the help of anyone who can process CITES paperwork to get animals from the States to you - a collection point that we can send out animals to and then get them shipped to you.

In the meantime, please let us know what you need - emotionally or financially. We love you!

Omg Bruce I am so sorry to hear this. I cant even fathom how you must feel!! My heart goes out to you. Thank the Lord you & Jerome got out safely. He was watching over ya's.

If I lived in Canada I would hook you up w/ a pastel once they hatch & you were back on your feet. Im in the states & dont know the rules / regulations for shipping to Canada. But if you know how it works.. Let me know. I know a pastel isnt high end, its all Im expecting as nothing else is breedable size yet. So if you're interested, PM me :)

Hugs & best wishes, we're all here for you!!!

Robin and Judy are right. This community sticks together! I will personally do anything I can to help get you established again. I have a few "buns in the oven" I would be more than willing to donate. Whatever it takes. You're not alone.

Judy, please keep us posted on the relief effort.
    Thanks

If I don't have much to give in the way of BPs, or anything else for that matter .. but I will give whatever I can to help you out. The whole day I have been stopping by this thread to see if there are any updates .. it seems once every 15 minutes. I am proud to be a part of this community.

I made a blog post on my site to ask for more people to pray. I don't know what your religious affiliations are, but I do know that it is about all I can do for now. Hang in there, and know that you have an army of friends standing behind you ready to help at a moments notice.

I'm glad you both got out in time. It's a huge shock when something like this happens. People will say at least you got out but you will feel guilty for a bit as being a pet owner your going to feel responsible even though your not. When our house caught of fire I was really in shock for a long time.We lost all our pets but our cats who were smart and hid in the basement. We were homeless for over 6 months while our house was being rebuild. We did get through it even with losses of several pets.It took us 4 years to get more reptiles.
