new hybrid forum

Eh. I'm still undecided. I think it's important to weigh the options before I do vote.

And before anyone jumps the gun, I have my reasons.

I'd watch how you word your comments at other members of this site. Calling anyone "unethical", "foolish" and "selfish" is a bit over the top in any thread but one where you expect that same person, a member of the staff of this site, to take his time to moderate the forum you so dearly want - well it seems a tad shortsighted to me. Ever hear the term "cut off your nose to spite your face"?

One, we have NOT denied you anything. This matter hasn't even come officially to the staff for discussion yet since nobody's actually asked us to consider a hybrid specific forum nor shown that enough members have an interest in having one created. We generally don't go around slapping up new forums every other day around here!

Do you not realize that new forums create more workload for the staff? Take up space on this board? Especially a forum about hybrids that will likely cause some heated debate. That won't stop it being formed but it will probably be a forum topic that requires close moderation. That's no work you for but it represents extra work for me and the other Mods. If you want this hybrid forum so badly do it right. Contact an Admin (names in red), show that there's enough interest from the membership and, just a word to the wise, stop going out of your way to insult and tick off staff members. Might be a plan. :)

You're skirting awfully close to earning a "Disrespecting Staff Member" infraction, and I really don't think you want to go there.

As for the matter of a new forum for hybrid discussions...If you expect us to go around creating new things that you want...a bit of humility and respect go a LONG way toward getting what you're looking for. These beligerant little tantrums do nothing except make us wonder exactly what kind of people would be using such a forum and therefore make us disinclined to bothering with it in the first place.

Just ask around to others who have stamped their feet and demanded that we do such-n-such for them...see how far it got them. :rolleyes:

i really dont mean to piss anyone off...all apologies are real. i aint bein sarcastic, believe me the last thing i want is the members here to be against me...so as far as my poor attitude...maybe after knowing everything i said is 100 percent honest you wont think its so poor, yes i did start off a bit harsh...but have i not apologized and admitting being wrong?

This is the type of behavior that discourages responsible education on the topic and encourages people to go out and try this stuff before gathering the facts.

Heck with this type of behavior I would almost encourage those interested to find other sites, create a user profile there that can not be readily tracked back to their profile on other Herp sites, and have fun. No sense in them being honest and up front when one of the moderators on the site is actually encouraging the behavior of black listing for talking about it.

That is where I have the advantage. I have all the info but no investment in being either pro or anti hybrid.

I was talking to an individual that is obviously anti-hybrid, and I stated something with the exact tone that I would have used if someone asked me how to get a list of those that are pro-hybrid.

Your attack is unjustified and misdirected. I would suggest perhaps paying closer attention to who is on what side of the issue before bearing your claws.

So, I finally voted. I think that a forum section for Hybrids would be a good idea. I'm still on the fence about the concept of hybrids, but I don't see any harm in having a set aside forum for discussing it. -Shrugs.- I figure that you should be able to have at it, like we do in the Quarantine.

Why do you all assume that the forum would be pro hybrids? If we decide that such a forum should be created it would likely be one in which all hybrid discussion could take place. That would be both pro and con. Just like any of the other forums, it would simply be a place to organize and more easily find info on that particular subject.

Agreed. But to be honest curiosity may get to some people though.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe I don't understand what gets people so emotional about hybrids. I have oober respect for Brian Bar.. heck, I can't spell his name... snakeybytes guy... and he raises hybrids. So, must have some good stuff in it. So, yeah, I'd say open up a discussion forum on it. If mods don't feel we need one then AZ or Lucas can go create one at the User Forums. I've been posting on the Football forum over there. I'd be interested in what y'all got to say about hybrids and would probably contribute as well...

If I am about to accuse someone of something that severe.

I take the time to read it and ensure I am very certain before lobbying such accusations in a public forum.

Quickly reading and misunderstanding are one thing... anyone that read it with any attentiveness, or has followed the thread (or my opinions on hybrids would know better).
