    Re: Names
All of my 13 yr old son's snakes have names associated with music:
    Crescendo
    Presto
    Blues
    Reggae
    Arpeggio
    Legato
    Allegro
    Harmony

He and his best friend actually keep an ongoing list of musical terms on the computer to have handy when the next ball arrives

    Re: Names
It really depends on my mood. I like uncommon names, or names that are really just cool sounding.

Ophelia I named because it means Serpent in Greek.

Hadrian is named after the general.

Lucius is a Greek name, which I like, but I also named him after Lucius Malfoy.

Regan is named after one of my favorite presidents.

I also had(gave him to my nephew) Odysseus, named after the great adventurer.

My baby ball python is Jasper, and my one-year old bearded dragon is Puff (the Magic [bearded] Dragon).

My best friends' 2 ball pythons are Phillip and Dutchess (aka Philly and Dutch).

My first BP was specifically chosen as a male so I could name him Alice after Alice Cooper. Only you old folks like me will know who that is and why I named a male snake Alice. Of course, a boa constrictor would have been more appropriate, but I didn't want such a big snake for my first.

My second BP was sort of a rescue from Craigslist who already had a name, Charger. The girl said her favorite football team was the San Diego Chargers. I then discovered he was actually a she, but just didn't feel like changing her name...it seemed kind of generic anyway.

JamieLynn...this is for you...I bought my first BCI at the NARBC two weeks ago. I wanted a female so I could name her after Marie Laveaux (I'm from Louisiana) and I thought it was perfect for a snake (got the Bobby Bare tune on my iPod :D ) Now this poor little snake was popped AND probed at the show, but first vet visit revealed her to be a him :O ! Well...I ended up changing Marie's name to the male name I already had picked out for my FUTURE male boa...Vincent. Of course, Alice Cooper's REAL name is Vincent Furnier....

    So there you have it...

Glad someone else knows who Marie Laveau is and hope someone knows who Alice Cooper is...otherwise, I'm REALLY old and uncool :rolleye2:

Thanks, I thought this would be fun for more than just me:P
I know who Alice Cooper is, but then for being as "young" as I am I do listen to some odd music. Yah I felt bad when I named our bp, I spelled the name wrong.
"Down in Lou´siana where the black trees grow Lives a voodoo lady named Marie Laveaux. She got a black cat tooth and a mojo bone, And anyone wouldn´t leave her alone. She go GREEEEEEEEEEEE... Another man done gone. She live in a swamp in a hollow log With a one-eyed snake and a three-legged dog. She got a bent bony body and stringy hair, And if she ever seen you messin´ round there, She go GREEEEEEEEEEEE... Another man done gone":D---To anyone that does not know this song, it is longer, but I only put in the most relivant part. This one is by Dr.Hook....no one knows who they are:D
