how much is she charging for the pastels? if your not sure i'd get a pic of the ones she has for sale first and post them here if you still want to buy from her. I wouldnt reccomend buying anything from her again but thats your choice

    the pastels are $175

i have no problem buying from her again. i honestly think it was just a mistake. this lady and her husband have been doing this for like 15 years and have been featured more than once in reptile magazine and other magazines. they breed all kinds of reptiles out of their home here in chico and do business all over the country via retile shows and the internet. she told me the last show they did they sold over 180 balls morphs/normals so i dont think people at the shows would be buying from them if they were trying to rip everyone off. it wouldnt go un-noticed at a show dedicated to promoting reptiles

cheapest ive seen was $100 for males and $200 for females and thats over the internet so shipping would have to be paid also

If someone that big in this industry is ripping people off by selling them normals as mojos, you need to tell us who they are so they can be dealt with. Doing that much business with balls, you don't make that kind of mistake.

thers no other local breeders here, they are the only ones around. maybe if i drive a few hours i can find some more but im confidant that they are good people and it wont happen again and if it does well mistakes happen and as long as they are willing to correct them its all good

and i live in northern cali, whats their location i can go ther. i have 2 homes ones 3 hours north of sf and the other is 2 hours south of oregan so it shouldnt be too much of a drive if they are as great as you say

everyone makes mistakes, its human nature. when you stop making mistakes then you can talk.

im sure you have a license to drive a car, i would assume you have been doing it for a while. so next time you speed remember you just made a mistake, or next time you make some toast and burn it remember you just made a mistake.

maybe you shouldnt drive or make toast since you cant do it correct every time right?

so is speeding and burning toast, you could kill someone or burn down your house

it wasnt shipped. i went and got it, i live in the same town. i just wasnt familiar enough with the characteristics of mojaves to catch it and neither are they i guess. ill talk to them about it next time i get food and see if we can both turn it into a learning experience so it doesnt happen again

That makes it worse. Comparing this to burning toast and driving a car is apples and oranges. You shouldn't sell what you can't even identify. :colbert:

also with supposedly being in this business for 15 years and in reptiles mag. i wonder how many of those 180 supposed morphs were normals.

as of the original poster i would be going over to fauna and check the boi for them im sure they (in 15 years) have to be listed on there

Wow. Nice attitude kid. Good luck with that. If you're the kinda person who likes getting taken on deals, then that's on you.

Don't get me started on my driving. I have over a million miles both accident and ticket free in a 40 ton vehicle over 70 feet long and almost 12 feet wide. I've driven more miles in a month than most people do in a YEAR. I don't speed. Not even one mile over the limit. Because I've seen too much senseless loss of life out there and it's just not worth it. It might also still be some of that rubbing off on me from when I was a police officer and just choose to obey the law. I don't make toast, so I certainly don't burn it.

Even a rank newbie can tell the difference between a mojo and a normal. Perhaps your breeder "friend" and yourself just deserve each other.

If this seller has been in the business for 15+ years, has been in the ball breeding business, in Reptiles magazine, blah blah blah, then they either are lying to you about everything, or ripping you off by selling you that snake as a mojave, (its clearly not a mojave, not even close).

If they aren't ripping you off or lying to you, your lying to us.

    So which one is it?

WHO IS this mystery seller that is so big and bad??? Although the ball python community is wide spread, it's still pretty small....

do a search for ball python breeders in chico ca if you want to find him. im not gonna throw him under the bus cause i think him and his wife are awesome people and all you guys are just out for blood. maybe all of you have been burned before thats why you are the way you are and think this is so bad. youre not even the ones who got "ripped off" so i dont see what the big deal is here. i asked if it was a mojave and i got my answer.

and why would i lie about it, i can think of no reason to say i was sold a mojave that isnt a mojave. can you?

i think im done with this website. after being a member for 1 day i can see what kind of people are on here. everyone with the exception of 3 members have been nothing but rude, yea ive been rude too but only when it was warranted.

If she has 15 years experience with breeding, she didn't make a mistake. She would know that was a normal. Most breeders either give away their normal males or sell them for no more than $30. She oversold that snake by $120 at least.

A mojave is a very distinct looking morph, and unless she picked it out with her eyes closed, she knew that she was selling you a normal.

I'm glad that you're happy with your animal, but it doesn't excuse a breeder with the amount of experience that you say she has still trying to insist that a clearly normal ball python is a mojave. :weirdface

Here is what you are missing, yes people make mistakes however not that kind of mistake especially not if the person has been in this industry for 15 years  (you would need to be seriously visually impaired to make that kind of mistake)

People here are not out for blood as you suggested it, they want to make sure that this will not happen again, because I can assure you that if they sold you this snake as a mojave there is no telling what they will sell to other potential buyers who are not knowledgeable when it come to morphs.

the reason everyone keeps asking is because they dont want to be ripped off or see anyone else being ripped off. when you act like its ok, well it kinda sends up red flags as being a poss. troll or even just someone trying to bash someone else. alot of ppl on this site have been around for quite some time and they have dealt with many many other breeders. when something goes bad (i.e. your post) well naturally everyone wants to know who sold this animal to you. you stated that this person has be around for 15 years and in a mag. so surely someone here would know of either past bad dealings or past good dealings.

We don`t lock threads because you ask us to.

You asked for advice and information that you were lacking, people gave it to you, and you have repaid them with...?

If what you say happened, then you were ripped off. Someone took advantage of you and lied to you regarding your purchase.

You can choose to deal with them again, or not, that is your business.

If you want this thread to die a natural death, then I would encourage you to stop posting on it. That is how threads usually disappear.
