female with 16+ here! Granted, my husband likes the snakes, and helped with rack building. But I solely care for them in all aspects from breeding to feeding, to hatching out and incubating.. and heck, I bought them (well most!)

Seven to fifteen, but I'm betting that I hit the next category sooner than later ;)

i feel small lmao i'm just starting back up with reptiles since i quit about 12 years ago and i only have 4 snakes and i see men and women in here with 65 + lol =((((((((((((((((

I'm so excited to have my one snake, but I've been trying to figure out at what point in my life I'll be able to have room for more and be able to start some smalltime breeding.

Same here. Not all the same kind though I'm currently at:
2 normal BPs 1 adult male 1 unsexed
1 female Columbian red tail boa
1 male Suriname red tail boa
2 coastal rosy boas, 1 adult male 1 baby female
4 corn snakes, 1 male striped ghost, 1 female lavender, 1 male snow, and 1 unsexed amel.

wow these results are pretty even!

im almost at the 10 mark which kinda sucks. when you hit the 10 mark in florida, it requires a permit. you have to have a permit to do anything in this state!!

What about those who own snakes as a family?
I'm female, but my husband, son, and daughter all love snakes. We have one BP now but shortly after we brought her home (as a family) decided we want more. Once we thin out our feeder population we plan on finding a pair of het for albino. (we have to thin out the feeders to open up 2 more cages)

I'm a female owning 4 Ball pythons (two are morphs), 1 Boa constrictor (morph), 2 Blood pythons, 1 Dumeril's boa, and 1 Kingsnake:P

Female with over 40 ball pythons, 3 clutches in the incubator, up to 14 more expected (though probably not all of them will go).
Also, 16 geckos, 4 eggs incubating.
One lone Plains garter.

I actually have 11 snakes that the moment, 10 of which are hatchlings lol. 3 of them already have new homes that they are going to and another 2 are awaiting replies from possible owners. My collection will probably go down to about 5 or 6, then back up to 10 in a few weeks.

Female with 30 snakes currently and should have eggs dropping sometime in the near future. :)

So far just two female normal ball pythons. A third is on its way, and still looking for good deals.

Old thread, but interesting! I find it really interesting that we're almost evenly divided between all of the options.

For me: Female, with 50-odd snakes of multiple species (mostly genus Python), plus 20-odd chinchillas, five hedgehogs, five cats, etc., etc ...

What I'd like to see added to the poll is, how many males versus female keepers are "snake (or reptile) exclusive" versus general multi-animal keepers. I hypothesize that more males than females keep snakes exclusively, and more woman have lots of different species, but that's a total guess that isn't really based on much of anything. :P

Also, almost all of the "snake people" I've met locally are male, and AFAIK none of them participate in online snake forums. :rolleyes: So, I don't know if that may skew the poll a bit ...

Um, yeah! I had no idea we were so close to 50/50 across the board. That's... kind of a big paradigm shift for my brain.
