john is always banned. why is this time such a big deal?

of course you want the forum to be as entertaining as possible while still being pg! informative?? posting pictures of your pet is considered informative and not for entertainment purposes? what information do you get when you see breeders posting of their new secret morphs? that's why people create games here, to make the forum entertaining...if you want pure information, read a book. by yourself.

The name calling was clearly over the top. But, I have been criticized for being too sensitive about snake food. Let's face it, we kill animals all the time. I don't know enough about John's past to comment, but when some of the nicest (and funniest) people on the site chime in......

I'm with you Raymond but the stuff you mentioned is PG "entertainment"... You stated that Jas' R comments are entertaining... that they may be but when it goes against the rules who cares if its entertainment, informative, an opinion... its not allowed.

I'm banned from reptic-zone bc I made a comment without thinking about it before I posted it so I can speak from experience. To me this whole thing is black and white... you speed and get caught you get a ticket... you call people names for your own enjoyment(maybe others) you get banned... simple answer... dont speed, dont call names

Josh, once again you and I disagree. It's pretty interesting that while you wrote (in another thread) that my daughter dying because insurance won't cover the astronomical cost of her cancer meds is fine, "all animals die" you said, yet you now saythat this forum is here for education?! This forum is both educational and a place where herpers can get together and share and brag and tease others with their latest projects. It's a place where breeders showcase their latest clutches. This forum is far more than simply educational-- we are a community.

John is no more an angel than you~ no less of one either. I hope that you go and play somewhere because you need to lighten up and find the wonder in the world again. Understand that this world is filled with billions of people and none of them are like you.

I've merged the two threads that are essentially about the same topic. Any additional threads created about John will simply be merged into this one.

John has a long history of causing trouble and openly disrespecting the site and/or the staff. He's been banned in the past and begged to be allowed to return on the condition that he would abide by the rules we all adhere to. He was unable to hold up his end of the bargain and the cumulative affects of his inability to abide by the Site Rules has brought about his ban.

John was well aware of the rules of the site and what was expected of him. He was well aware of the consequences of his choices and actions. He recieved infractions for calling names...for cursing....and for specifically cursing directly at one of the Admins. Even with all of that in a single thread...for most members, it would not be enough for even a temporary ban, much less a permanent one.....except that John already had a history of similar aggressive and disruptive behavior. He built up to his own ban by his own actions....we did not choose that course for him.

Not to change the thread but I have to get this out of the way...your daughter isnt dying bc health care wont cover the costs of medication... shes dying bc of an unfortunate disease... oh yea... my mother had breast cancer before I was born just so you know.

For someone who knows NOTHING about me you seem to think I hate my life and this planet haha... you couldnt be any further from the truth. I just graduated college, have a full time job making good money, a beautiful fiance and the list goes on... Im far from needing to see the wonder in the world again... I live it every day. I couldnt agree with you any more that theres not another person on this planet like me... I'm glad there isnt

For those of you that may not know this, Jasballs has been often suspended and banned from sites other than this one. This is not really an out of the blue surprise. And I doubt if he would portray this as a hatchet job being done to him. He is a herp knowledgeable, helpful guy that often doesn't think before he posts. He is well liked by many people and Mods here have expressed sadness about having to suspend him previously. When you have racked up lots of points already you need to be careful about using profanity or name calling. It isn't right to blame the site administrators for this situation. I do hope that he gets another chance on this site.

i honestly dont understand why people are arguing about this, he got banned, for a number of causes and reasons, this name calling got him the last points needed.

If your out there giving post that I agree with or find very good or informative, I'm out there repping it! I think I give good reps to a lot of people. :rolleyes:

And it has never mattered how many infractions they have or what their status is. If I like the post, it gets repped.

He is well aware that this is a "care bear" forum and it would only be a matter of time before he got the boot, again. Some members here might consider a look in the mirror and come down off of their high horse when tossing their opinions around about others, although then it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining here.....:gj:

Jas is a big asset! he helped me whenever I had a question, I've got lots of respect for the guy. I know the rules are clear and there are to be followed but I'm hoping its not a permanent ban.:colbert:

Jas was rough around the edges, I don't agree with what he said in the thread that got him banned but I will miss his beautiful mojos and his knowledge of bps. Rules are rules though and its a shame...

I don't see much of a high handed cliche activity here. You break rules, you get points. You act stupidly, you tend to get bad rep points. I almost NEVER give bad rep points. It takes something very blatantly jerky to get my attention enough to even consider giving a neg rep point, and even then I rarely do.
I do however give out good rep points.
Sorry that the guy is gone now, because he knew a lot about reptiles, but geez, should the admin ignore his behavior in order to keep him around? Wouldn't THAT be cliche behavior?
I'm sure that he will find a niche better suited to his sense of humor and his attitude, and he'll be dispensing great information and advice on that place.
