I'm excited about seeing what all you get this year...and excited about me getting a real job haha!

Thanks for clarifying! Its easy to get so excited about one part of a clutch and forget that het clowns are awesome too. :)

08_clutch#009 - 5/11/08 - 2 eggs and 3 slugs - Clown X Normal - This female normal had me so confused!!! She was building nicely but I never saw an ovulation and her follicles suddenly felt like eggs and were riding really low. She had her POS right on cue but then after 30 days went into another shed cycle. She sheds out about 5 days ago and I had no idea what's going on with her! This morning looked in and found her on 2 eggs and 3 slugs. These eggs are TINY but have good veins. They weigh 40g each - smallest I've ever incubated!

I'm not going to produce very many Het Clowns this year. Especially with clutches like this one!

08_clutch#011 - 5/23/08 - 8 eggs - Cinny & Spider & Yellow Belly X Normal - This girl dropped 1 egg on 5/18/08 and left it on the far side of the cage. Candled good but I expect it will go bad.

08_clutch#012 - 5/24/08 - 6 eggs - Pastel Het Pied & Spider X Unproven Granite - This is a really sweet looking granite girl I've been hoping to prove. Last year I bred her to the Pastel Het Pied and she produced 6 eggs with only one pastel and no granites... We'll see!

Looks like a good year for you Justin. Congrats!

I'm really enjoying this thread. When you say a normal is perfect pattern or color for het lavs, what are you looking for? I know that with my high contrast regular albinos (lavs in the future I hope) I look for female hets that have very dark black markings, almost black backs.

That's exactly what I look for. That particular girl has a reduced pattern that seemed genetic in her clutch from last year. Reduced pattern anything is cool IMO. :)

Thanks for the comments! I won't have any more eggs for a couple more weeks but there will be a few clutches hatching.

    08_clutch#004 - Hatched! - Pastel het Pied (Kobylka Line) & Pied (Kahl Line) x Normal - 6 eggs & 1 slug

    = 2.4 50% Possible Het Pieds

Notes: Super happy with the ratio on this one! I strongly suspect that my pied male sired this entire clutch, but since the Pastel Het Pied also bred the female, these babies are labeled 50% Hets.

    http://www.jkobylkareptiles.com/Imag...h_04_hatch.jpg

    Further Notes:
I promised to disclose all the data that will help help in the "Pied Markers - Fact or Fiction" debate. So here it is my first chance!

Belly shot of dame in Clutch#004 - Very normal, one cannot say that any belly striping was passed on from mom.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...f004_belly.jpg

Now we have belly shots of all 6 of 08_Clutch#004 offspring - clutch likely sired by Pied male, but possibly also by my Pastel 100% het Pied. - Not one typical belly in the clutch. Every hatchling has standard het pied marker traits.

    http://www.jkobylkareptiles.com/Imag...04_bellies.jpg

I hope this is helpful. Much more data to come. Not hiding anything! :gj::gj:

    08_clutch#005 - Hatched! - Lavender x Normal - 6 eggs

Notes: This dame proved genetic reduced pattern back in 2005, took a couple of years off and now again in 2008. 4 eggs went bad in this clutch... Having eggs go bad is no fun and gives a very powerless feeling!:mad:
