Why would I? Tom couldn't play if his life depended on it, and I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face if I were to play those tunes in public. Hell, I'd be ashamed to play them by myself.

I think you need to look up the definition of innovative.
All this coming from a guy who was sad when Faith No More broke up.. lol.
You know, you can still listen to Hanson. :D
Aren't forums awesome? :D

However, FNM sounded like FNM. Pretty much no two FNM tunes really sounded alike. Plus I also said I never was a huge fan of them, but they came into my life at a time when I was getting back into music. I was just bummed when I heard they finally broke up.

I'm just yanking your chain on the FNM. They weren't too bad. But, I don't think you give Tom Morello the credit he deserves. Just because what he does is "easy", it's still different. Not a lot of people play the guitar the way he does, which is what makes him great.
Now don't get me wrong, he's not the greatest guitarist ever. My vote would be SRV or Clapton. I wouldn't even fit hendrix into the greatest ever section of my music collection. That's not what we're here to discuss, but thought I'd mention it.

It's cool though. I just hear so many people say how amazing Tom is. When Munky from Korn came in, here raved about Tom and I had to turn around 'cause I was about to laugh.

I'll have to check out some anorexia. I've been listening to Bathory's "Blood, Fire, Death" album A LOT! Also, Carcass' "Necroticism" has been on replay quite a bit again lately.

That's too funny... and true. I used to have a website that would have a Rap Quote of the Week. Every week it was 4 lines of trash like this. It's hilarious in a pathetic and delinquent way.

Re: What band that broke up made you sad?
If you're gonna talk great guitarists I'm surprised Satriani and Yngwie weren't on there.
Another vote for Sublime, I forgot to include them as it wasn't really breaking up.. it was Bradley dying. LBDA isn't nearly the same.

Not even in the greatest section? I guess different tastes, I am easily impressed by someone who can run a base line with their thumb wrapped around while playing lead with his other fingers. I'm going to listen to machine gun now.

Re: What band that broke up made you sad?
Alright, you either loved them or hated them, and I happened to like them alot (go ahead and bash me) but I was pretty bummed to hear Creed broke up, haha. I actually was a big fan of their music, not so much because of Scott Stapps vocals, even though they were pretty good, but for more of the total band, so I am glad the remaining band is now Alter Bridge, even though I do not like their music quite as much. Ok, let the flogging beging. :tears:

Re: What band that broke up made you sad?
Slipknot isn't broken up....
They put out an album, tour for a long time, then take a break. With Stone Sour, the breaks are just a bit longer now.

Re: What band that broke up made you sad?
What about bands that we are glad, that broke up? I am a huge Morrissey fan, and personally I enjoy his solo work more than The Smiths' stuff, though they did have a few iconoclastic songs that were awesome too. But who knows if an artist's solo work, that is awesome, would have materialized if that artist had stayed with a former group?
I was upset about Pantera's loss of DimeBag (RIP) andI know that they had issues.. but Pantera just kicked ace in its whole.

What's funny is watching Phil in the old days. He was way more metal then, then he is now. Now he's just stoned out of his mind.

Definitely blink 182 so sad

Re: What band that broke up made you sad?
Chris I don't know who told you Slipknot ISN'T broke up but I was at the final tour "2005 The Final Volume Tour" then they put out a cd... A LIVE CD (9.0 Live)... If they're in fact not broken up 3 years is the longest I've went without hearing any new material or seeing a show since 1999 when Joey jumped on board to play drums.
