Re: Another Craigslist ....
This isn't the boi, what does it matter what craigslist ad's are around? If you have an inquiry about it, take it to the BOI or our own section for inquiries.
Truth be told, craigslist is full of some very stupid ad's. This sat wrong with some people, and it was remedied when LadyWhipple vouched for Joe.
Who cares what people were spouting off? They had no idea who it was in the first place, so why get offended? The original craigslist ad poster didnt give a full name, so it was all speculation until Lady chimed in. People jump to conclusions, it just the way brain's work.
Our brains are always trying to connect the dots and fill in the gaps. Now, that doesn't mean it was ok to bash this once unknown guy, but it also doesn't deserve a good ol' typed "serious internet business" bashing.
In the future, if anyone has a problem with a post by another member, instead of attacking them, bear baiting and all the other goodies that gets everyone all hot under the collar, why not take it to the MODERATORS or PM?
I still don't see why we had to pull this guy on here by his teeth just to have him say "Yup, it's mine." It was said to be his, so why did this thread continue to get posts????
OH! Because one person has to smear the mud in people's faces and call us cliquey for his own amusement. Sounds a lot like a troll now doesn't it? Got some people upset didn't it?
If people join just to get a rise out of people and offer no other posts besides causing a flame war, then believe me when I say they are trolling.
When there are posts that make you angry and you want to reach through the monitor with your fist to give a knuckle sandwich to whomever has you all antsy, walk away. Just walk on by and let someone else put their foot into their mouth.
Chances are there will be a lot of this as the forum grows in size, so learn to take it in stride and not get all stupefied when someone writes something you want to break stuff over.

Re: Another Craigslist ....
GLAD THAT WAS ALL CLEARED UP AND JOE'S NAME WAS PICKED UP OUT OF THE MUD.

GOTTA LOVE THIS SIGHT, TRUTH WILL PREVAIL!!!
WE HAVE A LOT OF GREAT PEOPLE HERE THAT REALLY CARE ABOUT HERPS AND THAT IS WHY I LIKE IT SO MUCH:taz:

Re: Another Craigslist ....
Thanks Joe for the apology, apology accepted, although not necessary.
LittleIndianGirl made some great points about human nature and how the mind works... it's how we are... sometimes it just takes more restraint so that it doesn't blow out of proportion.
Many times we make mistakes and it's the only way to learn. So in essence, they are little blessings in disguise.
There's a quote I like, "The man who makes no mistakes usually does not make anything."
Regarding the way we behave on forums like this, it's not cool, but it happens.
Regarding Craigslist, I do understand there are some scammers out there, then there are some business posting as individuals, so they seem shady or scammish, but many times that's just a viable business looking for other ways to attract attention and traffic, which in a sense is what I was doing!
Craigslist is a great way to reach a GREAT DEAL of people, and i've done well dealing on craigslist for years.
It is good/healthy to be aware, but not good to write everyone off just because we think they might fit the profile.
Again, we live, we learn.

Good grief people! That's all I'll say about most of this thread.
And Joe, the bluefields are doing great.

I find it amusing that the "forum troll" was the one that was right all along. Us "forum trolls" are pretty smart I'd say. :) I did predict how this would go. I (the newbie that was right) would get attacked. I rubbed your faces in it so you all would think twice before doing it again.
People hate it when they're wrong. They hate even more to admit it. They hate it even more when people show them how wrong they were in front of others, so I understand the way you feel Indian.:)
ps. I did get 15 points in my reputation for my posts from people who agreed with it. I guess these are just more "trolls" that think like me.:)

Let's hope all my new friends got lots of "blessings" with this thread. Even you littleindian.:):)

Re: Another Craigslist ....
One more thing. You all can look forward to this "forum troll" posting pics of the animals he has in the near future. I think you'll find that some "forum trolls" have a lot more snakes than you might think.
And finally, let this "forum troll" say this.
BCI Joe has nothing on this "forum troll".
I have another prediction, but I'll keep it to myself for now.

Thanks Chainsaw! ;) I'm glad, the first step is admitting it. Good to see you're on your way to posting something other than just rudeness and brash responses :gj:

Re: Another Craigslist ....
Good deals can certainly be had on Craigslist. I recently bought a set of 4 Volvo factory alloy rims on Craigslist with tires mounted on them for $175. It would normally cost $1000 for the rims alone. However many ads on Craigslist are clearly fishy and it is only prudent to be cautious about dealing with anyone on Craigslist for many reasons, scams and physical safety being only 2 of the reasons. The ads for pets seem to have a higher percentage of ads that don't quite look right. Many of the advertisers clearly lack knowledge of the species that they are selling, leading one to suspect that they picked the animal up for free somewhere and are trying to make a quick buck selling it. Buying an animal from such a person could easily bring you the prospect of disease and large vet bills. In my opinion it is better to be safe than sorry. Some of the people in this thread certainly jumped the gun in forming opinions of this ad but I suspect Mr Chainsaw that you had spent quite a bit of time searching for a windmill to tilt at before finding this thread.

Re: Another Craigslist ....
I've seen BCI Joe in Daytona before :gj:
can't say that i've done business with him but his animals look nice.
Welcome to the forums Joe. You're welcome to contribute to the community. :)

Re: Another Craigslist ....
Even though Joe maybe a real person the ad SCREAMS scammer. Otherwise I would not have posted it. Since you are a real person, maybe putting more information like that in your ad will lead to more successful ventures. If I and countless others on here thought so, just think of how many offers you lose because of it.
And a special congrats to D ick Tracey Chainsaw over here, for all his fine detective and alerting work.

LOL. You must have a few self-esteem issues if you feel the need to pat yourself on the back as much as you have over this topic. I hope it worked and you can now sit back in your chair with a smug smirk on your face because you really showed the "clique" in this forum who's really superior around her. :8:
FWIW, I have nothing to feel sorry for regarding my remarks about Joe Capone. Nine out of ten times when such an ad comes along on Craigslist it turns out to be a scam. We constantly get Nigerian scams to buy BP morphs for dirt cheap on the CL in my area, so people were just pointing out an ad that looked very suspicious. I'm glad it turned out to be legitimate and from a good guy, but I would still ridicule a suspicious CL ad if I got the chance. If anything, it would allow potential buyers to question the ad a little further and hopefully they would be a little more aggressive in doing their homework when making a purchase off of such an ad.
But don't let me rain on your parade... continue to show everyone around here how special you are because you were right about a Craigslist ad being legitimate. :gj:

15? Really?? You might have super powers in detecting legitimate CL ads, but it seems your math skills might need a little work.

I would prefer to be called Magnum BCI in the future. Can you please make a note of that?:D:D

The "smirk" is really big right now. I love it when I'm right, which is just about always.
So I guess since this wasn't that "9 out of ten times" there is no need for you to "feel sorry". If you feel that's justification for your obvious slam, then so be it. I wonder how craiglist stays in business with 9 out of ten adds being scams.
It's not my math that bad, it's my memory. I thought it was 15 when in fact it's 12. Now shouldn't you be adding up the value of BCI Joe's snakes to make sure they total up to $250,000.:)

Good lord, I think we've been whisked back to the fifth grade. Great first impression on your part. I don't know why you feel like you have to go on the offensive and be a bully to other members, but I don't see a positive outlook for you here if you continue down this path. Just saying.

Actually, what I said was "Nine out of ten times when such an ad comes along on Craigslist", not "9 out of ten adds" [sic]. The ad was advertising high end expensive morphs without giving specific prices and without naming the seller. Such ads on CL are usually scams.
It seems like your comprehension skills are on par with your math skills. Hopefully you can find a job with your CL legitimate ad predicting skills. :)

If making fun of people that have made a huge mistake judging someone before knowing the facts is considered to "bully", I guess you're right then LittleIndian. I had much more fun in the 4th grade though. Can we go there instead?:)

I "comprehend" that I seem to have hit a nerve with people that have a hard time admitting they were wrong. People that do the usually thing. I was wrong, but I had good reason to be wrong. So typical.:)

The second grade was much better for me also. I'd be happy to be back there. I remember the second grade. When we were bad we would stand in the corner.(often for me):) I see some people here that could use some time in the corner.:):)
Remember. He/she who posts last wins.:D

Re: Another Craigslist ....
I think this thread has more than served it's purpose and no more bickering is needed for folks to make up their own minds about their thoughts on how others behaved here.
BCI Joe, I just want to applaud you for your professional handling of all of this. You, sir, seem to be among the rare breed in this industry who are able to put good sense ahead of ego and do not have some aching need to "be right" all the time. Thank you for stepping in to let folks know the truth and I hope you will find your way to be a regular participant at our site. We have some great boa guys here, and more are always wanted! :handshake
