Re: What famous people are you related to?
I have a couple:
Mom's side:
Mr. Hyden(Forgot the first name) - He started Old Grandad Whiskey
Shannon Miller - Olympic Gold Gymnastic Medalist in 1996 (Also related to Mr. Hyden)
Dad's side:
Jordin Sparks - American Idol winner Season 6
I guess her dad (By marrage) who played for the Dallas Cowboys at some point.

Re: What famous people are you related to?
Was horse thievery really that common? My grandma told me we were decendants of some famous viking. I'll have to call my mom and see if she knows what's up with that. Other than that, mostly farmers.

Re: What famous people are you related to?
My great-grandfather was Christopher Columbus Smith - the founder of Chris Craft. My grandfather sold ChrisCraft Corporation to the Japanese when it was obvious that my father had no intention of running the company. (I didn't get a dime! -- and the money is all gone now.)
On my mother's side we came on a boat that founded the city of Princess Anne on the DelMarVa peninsula in 1729.

Re: What famous people are you related to?

Re: What famous people are you related to?
Not related to anyone famous that I know of, though if I would trace the family back I might just find one...but, My great aunt witnessed John Dillinger being shot and killed in Chicago so to me I guess she is famous...I also went fishing with Willie Mays back in 66 when my dad was appointed to show him around NASA. I have met, but dont remember most because I was quite young, John F. Kennedy, Alan Shepard, John Glenn and many more that I cant think of...

Re: What famous people are you related to?
I dont think anyone really.. Aside from two former presidents- one died after being in office for not so long because he had the longest (or it was at the time at least) speach when he enterd the whitehouse- and he died because he got sick when he did that.. And the other one was his brother, or cousin, or something.. I'd have to call my grandma and ask their names... lIronicly, its not the one with my last name. lol.

Re: What famous people are you related to?
The only famous person i can think of that i'm related to is the late inventor Harry Ferguson. He was a first cousin of my great grandfather.
Apparently he revolutionised farming. Here's a wee link to a short biography of him

Re: What famous people are you related to?
I am not related to anyone famous. My great-uncle served in the Civil War and rode in the cavalry.
My husband is friends with Nathan Quarry, a famous UFC fighter. And my landlord is friends with Gary Busey!

Also my uncle is a big time producer for Sony Pictures out in LA.
I can't believe that you would mention Marlo but not Danny. Marlo was just Danny's daughter. The big producer must be Uncle Tanoose.

Re: What famous people are you related to?
My maternal grandmother is an award winning Canadian author. (For privacy reasons I'd rather not give her name.) She was also president of the Canadian Authors Union for several years, and to this day she tours and lectures and her books are in print all over the world. Not bad for an 82 year old.
As for the distant past... hm. My maternal grandfather's family crest was honored with the Fleur de Lies emblem after saving the life of a French Prince a couple hundred years ago. Extra significant because we are not French! Not quite sure about the story behind that one off the top of my head, but despite that we are not French, we still have the honorific emblem on the coat of arms.
My maternal family's side is full of people who are obsessed about researching our family tree. They've thus far tracked it back to 1000AD, and they are pushing to go back further.
Sadly, my father's side has a murky history due to a house fire when he was 13 that claimed all the pictures and records brought over from Ireland. The oldest surviving member of his grandfather's generation is a 97 year old Nun who has developed alzheimer's in the past few years. I guess there are some things we will never know.

Re: What famous people are you related to?
Well, no one really famous...but through my dad's side I'm related to some Irish rebal/warrior type guy who invaded Britain. I can't remember his name but supposedly back in the day my ancestors were supposed to be a bunch of bada$$ warriors-our family motto is "First in the Battle, Last in the Fight". Which I always thought was pretty cool.
My hubby is related to Clyde Barrow. Didn't someone on here say they were related to Bonnie? That's pretty weird.

That's a badass motto! Ours is, "Neither to oppress nor to be oppressed."* Must explain my passion for social justice and equality. :D

Wasn't the first Jamestown in 1607? Plymouth was settled in 1620.
I'm Canadian, so if I'm wrong I have an excuse. :P
Although I've been to both on vacation. I've also been to Salem. lots of history there.

My mother is going to make her TV debut on a reality show makeover program. Odds are you've seen it or at least heard about it. LOL Until the show she literally never wore makeup, had her hair cut/died, had a manicure, went shopping for nice clothes for herself... it was sad. In the "big reveal" I seriously did not recognize her. They took at least 20 years off her.
Unfortunately I can't go into any more detail because they are really strict with contracts and I don't want to risk getting in trouble. This is the internet, after all. But before the program airs I'll let everybody know to watch, because I'll be on it too (briefly).

Re: What famous people are you related to?
Susan Hayward ( old time actress ) some how on my dad's side of the family.
And Hitler only had a sister . There were other siblings from his fathers third marriage but only Hitler and his sister lived.
He would have had a step brother Alois Jr I think but he was from his fathers second marriage.
I know, creepy I know about Hitler but I was obessed with him when I was in middle and high school. I studied a good deal about him.
