Pieds are one of my favs. But nothing compared to the banana clown! I will pick up a female sooner or later, though I might abandon the idea if Adam decides to sell me his 'special' clown project. Or i might just get both. I am a pretty impulsive person so I am sure these guys wont be the last.

To me the important thing is not the money, but the animal and the person you are buying it from.

When purchasing an animal I like to know that I am buying a quality animal that has been well cared for, I also like to know whom I am giving my money to, someone that is there before, during and after the sale. And there are people I will not support in this business no matter what.

Even if you get your female pied for $900 will the breeder be there after the sale if there is a problem???

Now as far as $900 for a breeder female pied (whether it is low white or not) not likely!

Like you quoted I never needed an answer questioned , I asked peoples opinions on whether or not they would do something like this. I have tried to be respectful and genuine in all my posts before this thread. The reason is you get flamed up fast by the bp vets here if you do something different. I didn't realize I was screwing up some sort of global snake market by wanting to sell 900$ pieds. I just balance cost and worth and find a middle ground for people well off. Trust me ive been wanting to do this for 3-4 years now and havnt had the funds till this year. I would have given anything for a 900$ pied when I was broke. So sorry for coming off as whatever you procieve me as. This is why I stay on fauna. To much elitism here. :gj:

Im sure if you read the post you will see the underlying sarcasm like the jay-z , and the wire refrence, its just unneeded.

Personally I don't want the price of pieds to dip that low. Pieds are my favorite and I kind of like the idea of having to work for them, either by buying possible hets or actual hets and breeding them in hopes of producing my own, or saving up the 2000+ and buy one. Its what makes this hobby fun and exciting. If you sell morphs like the pied for 900 or even less afterwards, this hobby will slowly die because everyone has everything and is producing the same things.

I bought myself a het pied for $75 and a normal female for $40. I hope to produce my own pieds someday or save up the money to buy a really nice low-white pied. That is the beauty of it. You work so hard and save up for a goal. I don't want this hobby being like a candy store and you can just go in and pick and choose what you want for a small price. Where is the fun in that?

I read somewhere on markus jayne that said with just the core snakes that exist right now there are still hundred of thousands of combos. Though most of which result in white snakes. LOL:snake:

There are countless possibilities for this hobby, but just being able to go out and get whatever you want, whenever you want just makes this hobby lose its magic, so to speak.

I like not being able to get everything I want right now. I like having something to look forward to.

understandably. I respect what you are saying, but then again it will end up a corn snake market eventually. I saw a pastel breeder package of a male and 4 normal females for 599$ shipped. I remember a few years back when I wanted a pastel they were like 600$ by them selfs.

a part of what? I am to blame for someone selling cheep bunk snakes? Or who even knows if he is selling snakes and not just a guy with a computer. I havnt even baught this snake yet let alone bred. I could have went to some shmuck and spent probably half that, but I didnt because the breeder I worked with I respected and trusted. This is true if you do the odds with the 60 some odd morphs there is 4 million different combos. And there are rumors of more co-doms and recessive mutations in africa that Amir just hasn't come off of. :D

So when bps of any variety become under 100$ its a fall? Why? Just curious because I never understood that really. If all of a sudden porches sold for 100$ and everyone had one would you say to yourself I dont want a porche because its now ruined for all the diehard porche fans. I will be happy when I can hang out in my basement and brew up any snake I want for 100$ Isnt that the reason there are still so many corn breeders still. Because they really love the snakes and not the money.

edit: I agree with Heather, very tacky to wave prices in our face unless it is for a legitimate question whether it was a good deal or not. It was taken it beyond that into something else entirely.

I lived outside of town and used to hang at Rainbow's End, when Laura owned it (on the corner and across from Bran's music shop...can't remember what he called it.) This was years ago- like 22 years ago!!! Then I spent some time in Montross then back to Fredericksburg then out west!

So I hope this guy was a fake for his sake and just didnt really need the cash. If you aren't purchasing, why not throw out a name? Perhaps he is a certified good guy? You posted earlier you didn't want to lose a contact by mentioning his name. If that's already past, throw it out there, you may get a good deal in the end!

The person I got my spider and pastel doesnt have a site or even a buisness name. But she has about 100 snake facility and its all she does for a living. Her name is Kathy Newman, I met her in person. Is it a bad sign you cant find her?

I would take it as one, since the Ball python industry is so integrated. The fact no one has bought a snake from them or though about it and posted a inquiry on the BOI makes me a little suspicious.

However, the BOI isn't the end all be all. If you have met them in person and seen all their stuff great. But when a person is oh say 3000 miles away, thats when then BOI is most useful.

Haha it came off sounding really stupid. The facts are I dont WORRY about money. Its not like im shredding it up for fun. and the only reason I mentioned it was because people where kinda having a trip over me possibly losing 900$ and to me I felt like it wasnt to risky. To be honest im not sure how I will go about this. Very tender I think. A round trip plane ticket through my brother will be 140$ to seattle from here (he is in the military) so I might just fly out there for poops and giggles. But thanks for looking at this from a more grounded perspective, I appreciate it.

and secondly the gold refrence... its :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: like that. When I purchased the 14oz of gold a month and a half ago it went for 445.33 a oz. The market is up to 850$ an oz as of yesterday. Tell me this isnt a legit income ;)
