I don't approve of her conditions and didn't even look at the pictures (dial up, things move slow and I don't have the patience to see an incorrect setup). I'll view them later this evening if i can.
To the original poster. We want to help and want what's best for all of the animals. A bunch of scenarios can be played out as to what has happened to your snake. The pesticide used, the housing of multiple snakes, the flies, stress from force feedings, etc.
It's good you have an appointment set up for your bp. What I suggest in the coming days is to buy some tubs, appropriate sizes for each animal and separate them. You'll need UTHs (for each cage, maybe two per cage if you can't get the correct heat gradient), something to control them (thermostat/rheostat/dimmer), water dishes, aspen, and hides.
Yes it's going to cost some money. Much less than having them all in tanks. But it's what is needed. I'd then work on getting your entire collection to the vet for a wellness exam and fecals. Yes this is going to cost money as well.
If you can't come up with the money I suggest adopting them out and being honest with the adopter. That they need to go to the vet and you don't have the money. That they are housed together and that you've had some trouble with feedings.
BTW where are you located?
I am not sure I have compelte thought here, so if I missed anythign I will be back later to add to it. Feel free to PM if you want some help.

Geesh sorry Joe, I don't apparently own any snakes at the moment (however, my kids have a darn nice little collection going...hope they give em back to me someday).

Let me know what you think when you see those pics. ;)
I am sure you will get as fired up about it as some of us have. :)
I do hope she comes back to get some help with correcting her husbandry issues.
If not she may very well lose her entire collection and not that I give 2 sheets what happens to her...I just hate to see any animal in those conditions.
There is NO excuse for her to have 5 snakes....2 ball pythons and 3 Boas in the same tank. And once people had looked at her pics....She had outright lied.
She lied from her very first post. and there is no reason to lie.
No reason whatsoever.
just sayin'

This, I think, is the key. She lied about the fact that her snakes were being kept together. When a person lies, they know they are doing something wrong. The fact that she immediately closed down her photobucket also points to the fact that she knows she is doing something wrong.
If someone comes to the forum and honestly asks about keeping their snakes together, and is genuinely willing to learn why their snakes are sick, they will get all the support and knowledge from this forum that they could ever want or need.
But when they come and diliberately lie about their situation---and wonder why their snakes are sick, duh---they deserve a little scolding, IMHO.

I am pretty sure those are aquarium gravel...for fish tanks....which is why I find it hard to believe that she cleans her tanks at all much less on a weekly basis.
just horrible.

It looked like box turtle food to me.

yea...
It very well could have been. I am not even sure what box turtle food looks like. The first thing I thought of when I saw it is aquarium gravel.
And now she has deleted the video.
its whatever...neither should be in the snakes enclosure which leads me to believe that it probably wasn't cleaned since the last animal was in it.

Re: Possible IBD?
Yea, I was thinking there was a turtle in it, and she pulled the stuff out to make an empty enclosure to "QT" in... :/
-
Re: Possible IBD?
Poor snakes :(
So, Original Poster. You're going to post this stuff on the forum.. and then quickly privatize your Photobucket account? That just shows.. you know that you're doing things wrong and do not want to be helped. I feel bad for your snakes.

Re: Possible IBD?
well Connie...now I am just wondering if she put that ball back in with the others after she used the sevens dust.
If so they may all start having the same problem.
:(
She should get ALL of them seen by a qualified vet....and NOT that zoo.
-
Re: Possible IBD?
From different threads I have read, the seven dust is most harmful if the dust is inhaled by the animal.
Of course, if she put it on all of them, she may be looking at some very sick snakes very soon. :/
I hate to say it, but Kathy Love uses it on her corns, and says it's okay to use. I think that is just wrong to promote the use of it for purposes it is not originally intended.
And people freak out about using PAM?? Just sad... STICK WITH PAM!

AKA provent-a-mite not the cooking non-stick spray :P

Re: Possible IBD?
It feasably could be IBD, IMO. After seeing all of the snakes living together in one tank, it got me thinking. If she recently added a boa who was a carrier of inclusion bodies.. boom.

I could see this happening also :(

Re: Possible IBD?
The lying part wasn't cool. And yes she should be scolded for that.
I reviewed the pics I could view and she obviously has poor husbandry skills and the only way to fight that is thru education. After that it's up to them.
-
Re: Possible IBD?
I do agree. I only hope that she gleaned some knowledge by being here. She did not know how to keep snakes properly.. I really hope that she does now.
People can take getting yelled-at over the internet, in two ways. One way would be to get defensive, and refuse to change. The better option (I have found, in many cases) is to seriously step back and look at what you're doing, compared to what many experienced people are doing in that field. I myself know that it can be tough to take constructive criticism, but it is a great skill; one I hope that the OP has.
