Just for fun

Mine was supposed to be AC/DC for my 13th birthday. My dad bought me the tix, but he sold them to a guy at the bar and gave me $40 the next day and kept the rest. I paid $28 from my own pocket for them, so I got $12 for my birthday instead. So, Silverchair at 13, then well over 250 bands since then. I've seen Pantera, Slayer, Down and Superjoint at least 8 times. Pantera concerts were always the best shows by far. Followed by Beck. That man is the definition of the word performer. Living in Chicago, I was at either the Metro, Riviera, Double Door, Vic or House of Blues every weekend during my teenage years. Add all the Ozzfests, Lollapalooza's and Jamborees I've been to, and I've seen everyone worth seeing except for System of a Down.

Shaun Cassidy - :swoon: :oops: And to top it off - I swear he looked RIGHT at me and smiled ...shreeeeekk..... (nevermind I was in the upper level)

OK, in memory of my late high school BFF (I've always wanted to do that! LOL) her first concert, and my second was Styx - she was a HUGE Tommy Shaw fan.


Sadly, she had inoperable brain cancer our freshman year in college and passed away two years later - I still miss you Kristin!

Or a major airport...

I came this close (holds fingers a 1/4 inch apart), to knocking Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame on his butt in the St. Louis airport one time. I was running from the gate to the ticket counter, ran up the escalator, got to the top, and right in front of me was Robert Plant pushing a baggage cart with his guitar on it.

Oh, Steve, that had to be cool! Yeah, come to think of it, working in an airport could get very interesting. Wonder who I might run into once I get my license and fly in and out of small, private airports!

Got to chat with James Doohan (Scottie on Star Trek). He was a very cool person!

Also, I worked there during the filming of the movie "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles". It was great fun watching that! Saw Steve Martin, John Candy, and the lady (whose name I can't remember) that played the car rental agent. That scene was filmed at an empty ticket counter right next to ours. It was funny because she WASN'T speaking out loud! The dialogue was dubbed in later! It was filmed during the summer, and the snow was provided by snow making machines. Kinda cool seeing snow on the sidewalks in the middle of summer!

Man, Steve, you had some awesome experiences! I feel the same way about working at the Fairmont, although we didn't have any movies filmed there while I was there.
Heh, they're looking for extras here to be in the "Dallas" movie....I'm thinking about doing it! lol

I loved Dire Straits in concert and seeing BB King was just nothing short of breath taking. That man has....lordy I don't even know the word for it...he's just BB and he's just WOW.

I missed a couple of great concerts over the years due to being so preggie we figured it wasn't safe for me and the baby to be in a concert crush (rotten kids....ya owe me for that...I REALLY WANTED TO SEE AC/DC!!!) :P

I live for the day I can see Melissa Etheridge in concert. Mike's been to see her tons of times before we met and I'm green with envy!

Yeah, working for a major airline was lots of fun! Nuthin' like standing in a boom truck spraying de-icing fluid on the tail of a passenger jet in the middle of a St. Louis winter! ;)

Jo - I wanted sooo bad to see BB King when he was in town with Eric Clapton!!! That is THE concert that I sorely regret missing!
