i thought you mentioned that you make your own enclosures... i'd love to see a photo of one if you have one available.
the morphs you've already purchased... may i ask how much you are getting them for? any idea what breeder your local store is ordering them from?
for me... the bloodlines of my ball pythons is vital in my decision to breed them. if i don't have the bloodlines, i won't use them for breeding, they would be pets only.
to start a business from unknown sources won't get you too far in the ball python industry. there are some really great breeders out there... and honestly, that's who most people want to purchase their future morphs from.
hope that assists you.

im getting ready to breed i just ordered a piebald a ivory a albino ball and a mojave male and female for each 1
So you bought BP that are proper weight and ready to go, yet by your questions I have doubt regarding how much you know about Ball Pythons and their care
You getting ready to breed but you have that kind of questions
Quote:
can you breed with a burm with a ball
:rolleye2:
Quote:
but what other balls should i purchase or if anyone is willing to sale me something let me kno at a reasonable price
But hey maybe you know more then me, after all you gonna make a hell of a deal there with that het Macaw for $1300:8: :lmao:
Anyway I have done researches about ball pythons for many years and I just now decided to get into breeding but I don't plan on doing it to make a quick buck, I know it takes time, commitment, and a lot of work. I just did not wake up one morning thinking I want to make money I'll just breed snakes.
You need to be ready to care for your BP, have proper housing, raise feeders or buy F/T, pay vet bill when necessary etc.
You must know what to expect when breeding, how you go about breeding, how to start the hatchlings. What will you do if the offsprings if they don't sell etc.

Re: breeding python
hey Breeder man you said that you already have a normal. why dont you go with a co dom if morphs are what you are lookin for cause when co-doms are breed to normals the result is wall of whatever the morph is.
as said we do this for the love of our animals :)

For $150 it was a burm. For $1500, it was a ball python. Besides which, do you REALLY want to buy breeding stock from someone who doesn't even know what it is themselves?

Woooe, slow down Bill Ni...No mix matching on snakes, you can if you want dead snakes. Your avoiding some questions, who are you getting the balls from? You gotta realize that your dealing with LIVE ANIMALS, they have feelings and feel pain also, don't make a stupid desition and hurt the snakes
I have a pair of het bummble bees for 5,000 dollars!! Thats the best deal on the internet!

Did you notice he also wanted to take you up on that deal?
You need to do your research that shows your non-ball python-morph-knowledge-ness-ness. Savy?
I smell blackend redfish...............

joe, i'm curious. how exactly does that help him to take our forum seriously when he's being treated that way?
breeder man, i love the level of assistance people can get here... and how much information is shared. it saddens me to see people make "fun" of this place. i'm not against having fun... but making fun is different IMO.

Well first off if you veiw your snakes as a easy money maker then you will fail majority of the time.I started out with a pair of normal ball pythons and bred them my 7th year of keeping snakes. You need to buy QUALITY snakes and worry about them and making sure EVERYTHING is perfect until they reach breeding ages.Start out as a "hobby" and later on decide how you want to continue.

yeah yo really might not want to purchase a ball from someone who is just selling them but you should get more in depth info. when i purchase animals i make shure records like DOB, feeding, and shed samples. i alos get other inf like on their siblings in the clutch, genetics. some dealers evn go as far a prividing you with a family tree like document
also if the person selling it doesnt know what it is then i really wouldnt buy it
Thanks,

Re: breeding python
So you want to become a breeder.
http://www.8ballpythons.com/journal/...ngcalendar.htm
Study!!!!! Read this learn it. (Of coarse before you breed you have to master the art of keeping the snakes healthy, and get them up to size and age.) The search options on this site ARE YOUR FRIEND! Use them, Google is also a great place to research.
You stated that you have bein researching ball pythons for about a month, I have bei researching them for 2 years, and have still not learned everything there is to learn about them. Read all the informative threads. There is endless possibilitys. Breeding snakes isn't a quick way to money. Save up and buy young animals, build or buy a rack or 2, ETC. I hope this helps.

Re: breeding python
I bought my ball from amazon reptiles out in rancho cucamonga area just outisde of l.a and they are a legit place they gave me all the records and i know about all that stuff i have had my norms for a about 1.5 now and i got my pastel about 9 months ago. I believe im ready to start breeding and i understand what you mean buy care for your snakes yes i do that i play with the little jokers as much as i can. I also take my male norm every where i pretty much go hes my pal. But yes i do build and design my own cages thoough do to me taking wood, auto, and arcitect in school. so all my tanks are pretty well custom and unique i have a water fall in one its awsome i will post pics up soon. I am also creating a website soon and i will be selling snakes and giving you info on how to design your own snake home, or you can purchase them from the web all ready prefabed.

Re: breeding python
Money is not a issue i am a succesful real estate agent and own a trucking business and i manage a company out in long beach i am doing computer networking and security full time. my truck and real estate is on the side and breeding snakes will be my hobby.
-
Re: breeding python
How old are your snakes? 2-3 years+ for the female and 1 year+ for males. The female needs to be 1800+Gs and the male needs to be 600+ Gs. And you need to know the temps for breeding , you need an incubator, etc. Snake breeding isn't just a through 2 snakes together and they do the rest, you are involved in alot of things.

If you are so confedent with yourself then fine, breed I just hope nothing goes wrong.
What morph catches your eye the most? What do you think looks the best? You really need to slow down and really really do alot more research.

and i hope you know that the way you started this thread, with less than readable text, making things up (you started off with different snakes than you say you have now) just to mention two things you did... this does make it kinda hard for the members here to take you seriously and i'm sure many still hesitate to 'chime in' on this thread because of that.
play nice, be honest, ask questions by typing without errors (as a business man i only imagine you must know how to spell correctly) and i'm sure the members here will begin to trust you in time. ;)

Re: breeding python
That was when i was messing around. I HAVE SAID TOLD EVERYONE THAT I WAS MESSING AROUND EARLIER MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO BACK A PAGE OR TWO AND READ. Im not trying to get on you case or anything but i am just letting you know. Before you open up your mouth to soon and bring something up that has already been killed. But anyways im really trying to morph them myself wouldnt it be cheaper for me to do it like that and get what i want then go out and buy it already morph i mean thats the best part is seeing what will be coming out. Am i not right?
-
Re: breeding python
please don't yell at me (as all caps is yelling on the internet). i was just attempting to explain to you why some members may not be taking you seriously. you have to remember... we are like a family. we all know each other and a new face comes in and pulls our legs... and then all of a sudden says... hey it's okay... i was kidding but now i'd like you all to take me seriously.
as to situation of breeding a morph or not. there's a thread where this exact thing was discussed in the last couple of days. feel free to use the search engine... it'll be very helpful for ya. ;)

Re: breeding python
Wow this post blew up since I was last here. Please don't thake any thing I am about to say as attack. Breederman please excuse me for bringing up previous posts but...I am not really sure why you would tell people that your getting animals your not or that you have animals you don't even in playing. May I make a kind suggestion? I will give you the benefit of the doubt that the businesses that your dad past down to you are legit and that you were not playing. It seems that being a man with all that going you'd be a very busy. I care deeply for my snakes and for there offspring I do this as a hobby and it consumes most of my free time. If you are going to under take this please be ready to devote hours cleaning and feeding and weighing and cleaning and cleaning and handling and looking over the animals every week. Two snakes are a breeze to care for 10 - 800 that take time and more time. I understand the joy of morphs and the want to have the all for God sakes I want them all I go to the breeders sights and shops and just drool and people tell me I have great animals and like to come by and see them. However breeding is not the best way to go about getting the morphs you want there are breeder that'll work with you to put the morph of your dreams in you home. Please understand that no one here is personally attacking you with his or her comments. Everyone here just loves this animal so much that when talk of breeding a ball to a burm for experimenting purposes comes up we cringe much like you would to hear of some one trying to breed a Great Dane to a Wiener dog. We are here to answer any of your questions so please understand that when guys like Ed Clark or Joe Comple or Judy or Adam try and point you in the right direction. These people have been keeping and breeding snakes since you were pooping in diapers they know their stuff. Good luck with all your future projects and I hope this helps
