Do Tell!! By chance was his nose crooked?
My Great Uncle' s name was Salvatore Luciana also known as Charlie " Lucky" Luciano. He has a great ( but Bad ) history. Most of my family has not told me about but I have done my research. He was not one I would have got in the way of.

Re: ethnicities
Mom's side: Italy and Panama, 3rd generation American on both.
Dad's side: European Mutt w/ a little Cherokee.
I've had a few people ask "What are you?" before because my mutt features, the dyed black hair, and the last name Rehema baffles them. Rehema is actually my pen name turned legal name, it's Swahili for compassion, so it's no wonder they're confused, lol.

Re: ethnicities
This is just my two cents on this topic.Yes as Jo said I am about 50% Irish and Itialian geneology speaking, but I was born In america,So guess what that Makes me 100% American. If you were not born some where else and moved here for what ever reason your an American.I would say we can trace most of todays problems to this fact almost every group of people that have come here did so because for to some exctent they were not wanted in there etchnic groups place of origin and left to start a New life in A New World.I just think it Is time for this country to start healing all these issues that are still dividing us for so many years.Lets just all agree to get along and Move forward realizing that regardless of anyohter influence we are americans by birth for most and by choice for the Rest. Continuing to hold onto these old geograpic points of origin while they lend flavor and history to our lives just seem to breed strife in the bigger picuture. Thats My two cents not ment to offend anyone just my opinion on this subject.

Re: ethnicities
Grandpa's parents both came from Ireland and he was born here. Grandma's mom came from Austria and her dad came from Czecheslovakia and she was born here.
I am not sure on ancestry on my dad's side of the family

No offence taken here... I understand your point. I was conceived and hatched in out in Austin, TX. and I'm very proud of that... BUT, at the same time. I'm also EXTREMELLY proud of my heritage. It's a very big part of who I am. Again, this was just my two's worth... :)
