Ya, but I'm not even talking about a timetable. I'm just saying, in X amount of time, this is my theory.

If you look at how long it took for the price from of Pastels to happen. I don't know, but I would say there are more breeders out there breeding Spiders, then there were Pastels breeders breeding Pastels. Simply because the hobby has grown. So with more breeders, I think it'll happen faster.

I personally feel that the market will get to the point that more morphs are priced more according to the individual animals. It is happening more and more with lower-end BP morphs already. Look at the carpet python market, you can find medeocre jungles for 60-70 bucks, while selectively bred carpets can easily sell for $500-600. Nice clean pastels from a good-looking line will always command a higher price than the average looking ones. More of the ugly pastels will be bought as pets, and less will be bred. Will you be able to find $50-$100 pastels in a few years? Likely. Will you be able to find $400-$500 pastels in a few years? I think so. One single gene won't always be the determining factor of price with most morphs, and then there are all the combos that won't be produced for decades. I have a lot of faith in where the BP market will be then, and hope to still be on board to experience it.

Exactly Evan, there will always be a market for top quality, above average animals.....look at dogs, some people sell Rottweilers for $50, some people sell quality ones for $5k+, even though there are $50 Rotties to be had, there are still alot of people buying the $5k+ Rotties ;)

Get into the morph's cause you love the them , don't think your going to get rich off of them. I'm hoping to sell some in a couple year's but if I only get to trade for other morph's I will not lose any sleep over it. I love to look in my tub's and see all my ball pythons , it doesn't matter if they lose value or not it's not going to change my mind.
