Similar to Kara....mine is just my initials. But not the ones I was born with. :P That last one got changed about 16 years ago. :D A long time ago, I used to have a variety of clever aliases for Internet usage....but now I'm just me and have no need to disguise myself.

My name was WTFbbqSnake but the admin changed it to WTH ... this saddens me. But it all started on Air Capital Constrictors forum...which was shut down for some reason, and there was an interesting article about some breeders that bread cats to have shorter legs...so the poor cats looked like they were struggling to walk. So I'm like...WTFbbq? And this other guy's like.....I don't know. Then I created the new Ball Python Morph. After years of breeding I had finally achieved the amazing WTFbbq Morph. Eventually I shall reveal the WTF bbq snake to those who are worthy of its greatness.

Mine is for a couple of reasons. I've always been obsessed with barn owls, they're gorgeous birds and a totem of mine. And I'm obsessed with Medusa. That's the short version. I use Medusa's Owl almost everywhere. It's just very me.

For a long while my LJ name was owlmagick before I changed it because tyto_alba was taken. :P But I got more and more obsessed with mythology and the roots of it, Medusa especially. I learned that Athena and Medusa were originally part of the same North African goddess, part of a trinity like, which was really fascinating to me. Athena was known to be associated with the barn owl, and in some of the later versions of the story Medusa was said to be a priestess of hers before all the terrible things went down with Poseidon. So in a number of ways, she too is associated with the owl. And I'll spare you all the many versions of the story, I could seriously go on for pages about it and a lot of it's not work friendly, so yeah, not so much. :rolleyes: I am theoretically writing a novel about my take on it though, slowly but surely. There's ALL kinds of symbolism involved, and I have a soft spot for misunderstood monsters. Which is why I have a Medusa's Owl tattoo on my arm and use the SN just about everywhere.

I've also taken to using Blue Gorgon as a SN too, but only in a buisness capacity. Which is again the Medusa obsession as well as my favorite color.

Mine's just a take on our last name...Franchino...(pronounced fran-kee-no not fran-chee-no)...aka franky keno. :)

I hate to break it to ya, but Schlyne doesn't mean anything.

I made it up. I had the nickname pinky for a while, but it turns out that's a common nickname for asian guys or something like that. I got sick of having to create something or go by some name with a bazillion numbers after it. I pulled Schlyne out of Islaine. It's pronouced with a long A. Shh LAIN.

I use this name on almost everything online. Back in 2002 all my friends and some of my soccer coaches said if I was the goalkeeper for the US during the world cup that year, then we would have won it.

and the Sprite came from my very first dog i had as a child.

Brandi is obviously my real name and the 0818 stands for August 18 the day I got married 8 years ago. I know it sounds all sweet but I use it for everything that way I never forget the date...............

Kurgan was the villain in the first Highlander movie. As a teenager I was obsessed with the film and tv show and decided it would make a good handle to use in Quake and has stuck for all online things since. 10 years now!

We've got 2 Bearded Dragons and 1 Ball Python (would like to get another), and other assorted pets.

BallDragons just doesn't sound right.

1. i used to watch the spiderman cartoons and when i started collecting tarantulas, i called myself "tarantulaman" but when i started snake keeping, i went to "snakeman"

2. snakeman is also a villain in one of my all-time favorite cartoons(and one of my favorite villains,pic is my default pic), "Megman"(from the 90's not the new crappy ones) and coincidently he's one of my favorite villains and i keep snakes:D
