The NFC has never been as good as the AFC, but lousy is a bit extreme. Four 11-5 teams certainly isn't lousy. Lest we not forget as well, Seattle beat every experts opinion on their win against the Panthers, and would have beat the Steelers as well, had the refs not been playing for them ;).
I stand corrected. Of course, Dungy and the team weren't the same after his son's suicide last year. What was Mike "the walrus" Holmgren's excuse for losing to the Packers during week 17? ;)
11-5 doesn't really mean a whole lot when you are beating the likes of the teams the 49er's, the Packers, etc. have been fielding lately. I won't argue that the AFC is certainly superior right now, but saying the NFC has never been as good as the AFC is a little off when you consider the NFC dominance in the mid 80's to early 90's.

I wonder which will happen first--World peace, the Saints winning a Super Bowl, or the Cubs winning the world series?

Re: Super Bowl picks
Drew Brees is a great QB, no doubt. The Saints have a great running game as well. I just don't know if their defense can hang with the big boys though after what Cinicinatti did to them. I really thought the Saints were going to do it years ago under Jim Mora too, but it never panned out, so I guess I will always have doubts about them.

it might not be the saints but i don't think bears or colts will go. they will both lose in two upset games...

Re: Super Bowl picks
It all depends on who's healthy and who gets hot at the right time. I really thought it would be the Colts and Carolina last year. The Colts have alot of firepower, but look to be seriously deficient defensively. The Chargers look very tough right now. Dallas looks great, but Romo is likely to hit some bumps in the road before long; let's face it, that offensive line is just terrible. The Bears haven't played enough good teams to get a real read on how good they are or aren't.
