Re: Knowing what you now know about MKR, would you purchase from them?
No, I would not, and will not support MKR... They might as well take Walmart's slogan of "Everyday low prices"
Also I'm huge on customer loyalty, their actions this year screwed over their customers last year that bought Lessers, Mojaves, etc.. Supposedly they are trying to get rare snakes to the little guy...but how dare the little guy to want to make something back on his investment, so lets undercut his prices this year so he has to move his animals for bottom dollar to make a return. The only thing low about MKR was how they treat their past customers.
Oh, but you say codoms are "unrare" (Joe I think you mean common, they must not have had grammar lessons in used car salesman school.) and that's what brought down the market prices...but as far as I know those guys charging more than you for codoms are still making their money (because they are loyal to past customers and selling a quality product, so they receive return customers) and if customers aren't willing to pay oh well, it will keep the market from being saturated with "unrare" codoms and keep prices up.
The big breeders I know of all started as little guys...working their way up to where they are through their passion for the animal. These are the types of people I want to support, they aren't pushing their animals in my face.

This sentiment is pretty much the way I feel about the situation. I've heard the sales pitch from MKR and I dislike it, it turns me off from their business to begin with. If I decide I need to go buy a new car, I go research it, see it's reviews, give a few models a test drive, etc. I don't need the salesman to stand there harping about how great it is, or how well it performs to me. I'll go make my own opinion first.
One can argue that the ball market is overinflated to begin, and express other sentiments along those lines. However, having poor customer service is not going to get you anywhere.

Re: Knowing what you now know about MKR, would you purchase from them?
Ok, here is my reason...
when I buy a snake from someone, all I expect is for it to be healthy and here on time... I really do NOT care if you are supporting me to be a breeder down the road, because to me, it's ME who is getting into the breeding business and I need to learn for myself and not be spoonfed.Once the money is on the other side and the snake is at my rack, that's all I need. Not for the breeder to support me in my future endeavors.
People this is just business. In ANY business, you have to survive and do whatever you can to make money, even make cheesy videos :P
Just my .02 cents...

I don't think you understand what people are referring to when they say MKR will not support you. They're not talking about the breeder holding your hand and helping your business, they're talking about keeping prices STABLE and not undercutting you when you go to sell your snakes. If you're not concerned about it and you think you got a great deal with your $800 Mojave, maybe you'll change your mind when you go to sell your baby Mojaves and they're only worth $50... But then you can think back and say to yourself "Wow, MKR really gave me a great deal on my $50 snake."

Or to set people up to lie on there vote to get out of being bashed on and flamed is just as wrong. I do not believe any more on walking on egg shells around some of you.
but i guess that some feel that they have to now because of your relentless public bashing and flaming and setups like this one right here.
IMO though.
I really think its time for you to take a step back and examine the things you write before you hit the submit key. Each post comes with less and less clarity and I find myself unsure of what you are talking about. This is an open forum to discuss not only our snakes but also the business as a whole. Unfortunately you (and some others on this site) don't "get" the business side of things and will never understand why people feel that MKR are the ugly side of this industry(along with guys like Chris Johnson, Tim Bowles, Bobby Pruett, CRE to name a few).

Re: Knowing what you now know about MKR, would you purchase from them?
What I've noticed is that all the people who are against MKR seem to like to bash the others. (the MKR people)
The people for MKR seem to be more calm and don't bash the MKR haters...

Re: Knowing what you now know about MKR, would you purchase from them?
Here's my take on this whole thing.
The entire MKR debate can be broken down into 2 sides.
Side 1
People who want to pay the lowest price possible and do not care who gives it to them. They only look at what they can get right now. Quality of the offspring is second since they choose to purchase from individuals just trying to produce as many animals as they can and are not concerned with specific pairings. These people are the supporters of MKR.
Side 2
People who are willing to pay extra to ensure they get quality offspring from selectively bred animals. These people will save and search to find that "right" animal. These people are the supporters of smaller breeders and the established breeders.
Basically it all boils down to price. No one would purchase anything from MKR seeing how they conduct themselves in public unless low price was all they were concerned with.
These 2 sides will never agree.
Now, enough with the MKR garbage. Since they have arrived at BP.net, the atmosphere on this forum has turned hostile.

My take on this:
OK, I have sat back the whole weekend and wondered what the heck is wrong with ppl lately... is the moon full, is hell freezing over, did something catastrophic happen that I do not know about.....
The answer to my above question: NO!!! Just seems that lately no one can let the "bad things" roll off and go on to other things more important, rather than being continuously destructive in this community by constantly re-hashing the same old crap! Do we not have anything better to do with our time than to keep bringin up the crap? Cant you find something more constructive to do?
Some of you are probably sitting there reading this wondering where this came from... well, let me tell you this, I have been part of this site since the day it began, I (and other staff) have put alot of time, effort and work into this for the benefit of others mostly.... yet, it is those same ones we do this to benefit, that obviously dont care enough about this community to get past the old crap and move on to more important/better things... sad, very sad. It is things like this that make my coming here not so fun, or not so enjoyable, because everytime I sign on, I have to see these pathetic posts not just from those in support or against whomever, but the bickering, belittling of eachother and other various crap going on. I am sick of it ppl...
So, what are those of you involved in this mess, willing to do to make this community what it is known for under normal circumstances? Can you get past this crap and move on?

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.

there will be an answer. let it be.

Actually, I thought this thread was pretty good! But to some that have No clue about the BP Business I guess your right.. Move on people nothing here to see..

Re: Knowing what you now know about MKR, would you purchase from them?
Wow! Didn't see this coming...another monster thread about MKR...
Has anyone ever considered that since Joe doesn't respond to you folks in his usual insane, off his friggin' rocker, makes Charles Manson look normal way, that you people look a little kooky? The threads here are all one sided. Like a bunch of paranoid, conspiracy theorists. The threads on fauna where he showed his true colors brought everything out in the open. The threads here are free advertising. The threads there show he's a lunatic...
