Not neccessarily...I have 3 big guys that are right up there in size with a lot of females I've seen. One's 1616g, one's over 2100g, and the biggest is over 2400g. ;)

For ball pythons, the size diff between male and female is never really that much of a difference, not like that of a retic.

I'm not saying it's impossible to actually have a hands-on, experienced reptile person working at a petstore....but....just because they call someone the "Snake Guy" doesn't make it safe to ask him to probe your snake. More than likely, they call him that because he actually likes working with the snakes...as opposed to 99% of other pet store employees that prefer the fuzzy pets....or maybe he actually owns a pet snake. But so do I...and I'm not the least bit qualified to probe one.

I just can't emphasize it enough....MOST pet-store employees are notorious for thinking they know all there is to know about keeping certain animals, just because they sell them. While in reality, the "knowledge" they are trying to dispense is impractical at best....and downright dangerous at worst.

    I agree with JLC

    (oh that so rhymed!)

I would never trust a pet store employee to probe my snake..I don't trust them on anything really, but especially something that could potentially hurt my snake.

My best advice to you in just to be patient until you have the means to take it to somene who is qualified. I was at the Vet and asked my doctor to probe junior. However, my boyfriend had his milk snake probed at the breeder he bought it from.

The next question: Why do your parents think that a snake doesn't require medical attention?

    Good luck with everything!

It tells anyone reading it what sex you're talking about.

    male.female.unknown

So... 2.1 would be two males and one female. 0.1.2 would be one female and two unsexed.

It means the person has 1 male ball python.1.1 would mean 1 male and 1 female,1.1.2 means 1 male,1 female and 2 unsexed. We really dont need the h word here as there are some kids here. Not being rude just giving you a heads up on it.;)

    No, it would be 0.0.1

Vets suck for sexing, Cheapest in my area ( for a vet to do it ) was $69.00
I said F that and went to a local breeder, he said he Might charge me $5 or $10
I brought my snake in and he sexed it for FREE!!! Luck of the Irish! lol
