Re: Post your car
I was gonna say....that's a B18.....
...I almost swapped a H22A in my sol before I sold it...I know a shop in Lorton that custom fabs the engine mounts...but...I started buying snakes instead...MUCH better investment IMO!
-
Re: Post your car
Yeah, tell me about it. I'm still driving it though. The civic doesn't have AC. So I'm patiently waiting for my hubby to put one in. He's a little lazy! LOL I tried driving it with out AC, but one day after work it started to POUR DOWN RAIN! It was soo hot, and I had to have the windows up. I was cuss'n everybody out. LOL...NEVER AGAIN!!

Yeah, when you try to sell it, you'll never get what you put into it!
-
Re: Post your car
Why couldn't you get the AC hooked up? That's a pretty easy thing to do in that swap I think...
There's place near you that does that kind of thing....called B&T Motorsports in Lorton, VA. Might want to give them a call.

Re: Post your car
My hubby is just lazy. The previous owner just took it out.

Re: Post your car

Of course a Civic Dx Stock engine will not beat a Camaro SS. But all imports aren't slow. I've seen many under 10sec mark. But of course its with major engine work. A civic Dx doesn't even have 100horsepower.

JDM, YOOO!!!!!
What are real import tuners? Fast and Furious? Please don't tell me you follow that. How about money put into most imports? 10 grand and you can get a Fox Mustang 5.0 below 10's.

LOL! YES!!! I know there are some pretty quick ricers out there, but I have never seen or even heard of one that can run low 8's, I have seen and heard of muscle cars doing that.
-
Re: Post your car
iv'e seen a T51 supra blow a 351 mustang and the mustang was nitrous injected.
-
Re: Post your car
The Supra must have been packing some heavy artillery. It's said to run 8.8 (supposedly the fastest street Supra), The mustang could have been on a low shot of nitrous on a stock block. There's a mustang floating around that runs 7's on street radials. Not to mention plenty of F-bodies running 8's on stock bottom ends.

Re: Post your car
of course ;)
i sent you a PM days ago. :)
i got 1 3/4 long tube hooker headers, T56 6 speed, McLeod Twin Disc Clutch, Steve Spohn Adjustable Torque arm and transmission X-member
I was gonna put a LS1 in it, then a LT1, but then I had no money! *shrug*
did u notice the custom made billet grill? ;)
-
Re: Post your car
I did notice it, and at first glance it looked like an intercooler. I was hoping to see some FI under that hood. :P
I responded to the PM. I never notice them right away. I guess I should glance up there more often.
LS1's are a bit cliche, but I guess they are good strong motors. Very efficient and easy to beef up. I'm sure you can find a junker motor for under 1000 bucks (out of a Corvette).

I restore Vettes for a hoby
the only one I would own is the 1967 427/425hp turbo..
2500 lb care with a 425hp motor with four speed tranny
side pipe and a rag top that make your dair stand on end

I would own any vette, but I would like to own certain ones that I like best!
-
Re: Post your car
My car has a Corvette engine... close enough. :P
My favorite Vette would be the aforementioned '67, or a '69 ZL1. Also wouldn't mind a 4th gen ZR1 with the LT5.

:confuzd: is my car "rice"?
-
Re: Post your car
I don't think I have any pictures, but I drive a 1992 Navy Blue Honda Accord.
Decent gas mileage, surprisingly low miles, and it gets me where I want to go.
If I get really lucky, I could win a 2006 Saturn Sky next month :P I have a raffle ticket to support the local firefighters.

i gotcha...but lets just make this clear:
Quote:
A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):
- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.
The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group or color, however different ethnic groups are known for certain styles.
Honda Civics with big spoilers and 4" exhaust tips are considered to be ricers.
We've all seen these guys rollin around town:
