boa lovers post your pics of your boas

trying for sunsets in the future.there is a great demand for them. they are both bci it is not like crossing bcc and bci. i agree that most hog crosses look sad. that is why i have invested a lot in a male that will make some super nice looking babies. i dont want to start some big thing on right or wrong. i dont see anything wrong with crossing one form of bci to another weather it be salmon to albino, albino to hog, hog to salmon. ect

just like line breeding. with out it we would not have most of the morphs we have today.( before any one responds read how kahl bred the first albinos.)

I think pure hogs stand on their own merits and there aren't enough people breeding them. But that is just my opinion...

you are right they are specktacular(sp) the problem is you can go on king snake right now and find hog babies for 150 shipped. there is just no money in normal boas any more. its sad i know. i know it shouldnt be all about money. but if i have the choice of breeding albinos or normals i will go with albinos. just like the ball python marcket. you can buy a normal ball for under $40. that is why all the ball people are moving on and breeding every type of morph with every type of morph. to be the one to creat the next big thing. that is all we are trying to do by breeding hogs to salmons.

Dude, I am all about people creating cool morphs..I just have a special place in my heart for pure hogs...Rock on though and ill look forward to some awesome pictures from you in the future!

no prob bob. i hope to make some of the purest looking hypo hogs this year. i think i have the right ammunitaion to do it. jamie i understand that some people dont like crosses. i feal kind of the same way with bci to bcc. but there are some damn nice looking crosses out there. jimi has one of them.

Im sorry i just realized i didnt specify....Star isnt my snake, she is one of my friends snakes .We do educational shows at the zoo with Star and bunches of other snakes. As far as I know my friend isnt gonna breed her, shes a big corn snake and milk snake breeder and doesnt have room for a male boa.

Jimi has TWO of them. haha. A pair of them. Married couples they are.

They are both crosses. The male is Suriname x Cancun (mexican) x Columbian and is het for albino. The female is Suriname x Columbian and is also het for albino.

Thanks guys. It's really too bad Kinky is kinked... she'd make for a beautiful breeder. Don't get me wrong, though: I love this girl exactly the way she is and wouldn't change her a bit... the kinks make her all the more special to me and she probably wouldn't be the sweety she is without them!

Thanks man. I am all about recommending Hogs as a great starter Boa. They absolutely rock.

they are known to be a bit nippy as neos. but from what i here they mature up to be just as tame as other boas.

She likes being petted - despite being at the breeders in her tub for a year (he was going to keep her) she is very laid back and handleable.

Thanks, and yeah he really is a good looking hypo compared to a lot I have seen for the same price I paid. I've seen a lot of dull ones around. He has his duller moments and his awesome moments, I've never seen a snake change color so much as him.

And BTW, he is spoken for by the female below him... :P Although I bet he would make some rockin' babies with another pretty hypo.

I'll have to take some of him when he's really showing good clean colors. In the photo above he is in a pretty good mood, but I think he gets even more clean than that.
