Its just amazing how quickly things go downhill here. Threads always start out informational but somehow disintegrate into a mass of yogurt/snack cake/alcohol references...And we all know who's fault it is 99% of the time :)

Just because snakes are solitary creatures by nature doesn't mean that they can't adapt to human interaction... I think it's obvious that not many snakes are picked up and crawl all over larger creatures in nature, but they do it in captivity without staying balled up 100% of the time.

    Ok, back off topic.

You know it's been a far few years since anyone's asked me that question....

My granny, a wise old lady, sat me down at her knee lo those many years ago and said to me...."jodee girl if anyone tries to show you their rosy boa you just tell grampa and he'll get the gun!"...:giggle: :halohorn:

Another question from the peanut gallery. I am noticing words like "spider", "ghost", and "clown" when refering to ball pythons. what does it mean and is there a link someone might know where I can do some reading on the subject?

    Just for instance:

There's tons of sites out there with beautiful examples.

EDIT: And another site with good explanations of morphs:

    Re: Spider personality??
So the pattern of the snake determines what its called? How do you tell what you have, and if there is such a thing as a "normal" BP, what is that called?

Normals come in all shades of browns and golds and all types of patterns.

The morphs are genetic patterns or colors and not random. Don't know if that helps any or not.

You'll see normals referred to as "wild type" too though they aren't specifically wild born. That always confuses me LOL. The neat thing, even with the "normals" is you can usually tell them apart easily. We have 5 normal female BP's and each of them is just so totally unique, even the kids can tell who is who at a glance.
