Re: South Brazilian Boas
Looking fantastic, Richard! As much as I like seeing my boas get some size on them, I kinda miss them being smaller with great big eyes like these two.

These two just don't seem to grow
But slow grown is far better for these pair

I hear you on that note. My Suriname boa is going to be 3yrs end of next month and is not much more than 3-3.5’ or so. Definitely much larger than he was when he got here, but still a small snake for sure. Argentine boa is much the same in that regard.

Love the gold and when I was first looking at boas, I almost scored one of these.
I love my Barranquilla, but I would not have been upset going with a BCA either.
Honestly boas in general are wonderful.
Guess I like them all.

Re: South Brazilian Boas
They're looking great, Richard! BCA are awesome on so many levels. I was looking into them myself for a while and wouldn't be averse to bringing one home in the future, should I have the room.
Yeah, Allison/Crispysnakes has a good group of BCA. Both South Brazils and Bolivians. I don't think she's had any for sale yet, but I'm pretty sure her older BCA are coming up on breeding age.

You are welcome.
You know it brother. Always seems to take forever for Boas to fully color up and to grow! At least when fed properly.
Feliz is such a cool guy, I cut him some slack though :). I think the camera phone and the lighting in my basement make him seem a little richer gold than he is, but not by much. He's in shed now and we will see what he looks like when he comes out. Warming up here in CT USA so maybe some outside pictures in the next month?

They look great.
Fun to see the size perspective with your hand in the picture.
I thought they were bigger, but they are still small little critters.

South Brazilian Boas
Being a complete boa noob/stranger, what purpose does the vividly colored tail serve in nature? That snake is gorgeous!

They wouldn't keep Still for belly pics. it's really pink and wanted them to show it off.
saying there nearly two years old they on small/medium mice every 10days, like bcc the bca can regurge easily if over fed
Mum and dad are not 5ft anyway.
So never going to be that big anyway

Thanks
In the jungle the bcc and bca are very arboreal and sway there tail in the green branches as a caudal lure in enticing birds and small primates and rodents to the bright red thinking its ripened fruit.
Kind of makes sense really and also very clever on there behalf
