Well it's been two days now and he hasn't touched the water bowl so do you think i wiped out the mites? Im going to change overthing again and bleach it, should i go ahead and give another shot of the Wipe Out again just to makesure? Also do you suggest me to feed in the enclosure or go ahead and get another small tub to feed him in? He's nice and has not yet hissed or stuck at me at all so im just going to feed him in another tub. Thanks for everything Shelby. Sincerely Aaron

Examine his head/butt closely for any more mites. Treating everything again doesn't hurt.

I feed everything (that's 21 snakes!) in their cages. MUCH less hassle.. less stress on the snake.. and no aggressive face eaters. ;)

what do you mean by (and no aggressive face eaters) so it's ok to feed my ballpython also in side the enclosure. Plus im going to put my BCI on Aspen also is this ok, my Ball is on it also. So it will be ok then?

I mean.. none of my snakes are nasty face biters because I feed them in their cages.

Aspen is fine.. don't worry about them ingesting it either.. they can handle it!

Thanks a million well im going to try a live rat pup and im going to buy another and F/T next week at feeding time. Im still having problems with heat and all i don't know what to do the warm side is to hot and the cool is to cool. it's in the 75-plus on the cool and high 90-100 on the warm im thinking about putting him in the 20L tank with a bigger heating pad. What do you suggest

Do you have a thermostat on your heat pad? Because that'll solve the warm side being to hot problem.

As far as the cool side.. either warm up the room (space heater) or get a bigger heat pad. Try having half of the enclosure on the heating pad.. even a little more. Tubs keep heat better than tanks. You might want to try Reflectix.. the insulation stuff that Matt has.

where do i pick up a thermostat at? MGREPTILES ive been looking at his stuff but i don't know what to get im plaining on ordering Flex Watt when i get the Vision tank for the snake but it's going to be awhile since he is a baby. And im just going to be using the Therm. for his cage only so which would work best for me? Also how does one Therm. keep the temps just right the cool end cool and the warm side and basking temps just right?

    Re: Got a BCI
Get either a johnson or ranco thermostat from MGreptiles.. or a helix or herpstat if you have more money.

The thermostat has a probe that you put in the cage. You set the temperature and the thermostat controls the heating element so the temperature is what you set it at the probe.

The thermostat doesn't control the temps in the whole cage.. just where the probe is. If the room the cage is in is too small, you may need a second heat mat/thermostat to keep the cool end warm enough.

    Re: Got a BCI
So im going to have to buy two of these things one for the cool and one for the warm shoot that is alot of money just to get the temps running right. I'll ask Matt what he recommends i use for the Vision i get down the road. Im wondering how long i can wait until i get the adult size tank for him. He's only 18" right now. So im kinda scared to get something that big and him be scared of it. So what size do you recommend me getting for him as a adult being the final cage for his whole life? I was thinking the 4.5ft. Vision? P.S. Matt is running that sell i need to choose which one im thinking the one he has onsale right now would do right. So should i go ahead and get one?

Provent-a-mite is the way to go, I tell you!

You really need to gradually up the cage sizes.. you can't just go from a ten gallon to a four foot cage.

If he's a large adult male, a 6' cage may be necessary.
