Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Something cute happened tonight. So I got home from work and flipped on the light in my room and Luna was out and about bulldozing her tub. She almost knocked her hydrometer into the water dish so I opened her tub to move it. She periscoped up like she always does when I open the lid at night (probably hoping for a nice juicy rat), but when I put my hand in the tub, instead of recoiling like she usually does, she just calmly slithered onto my arm. She's never done that before! Lol I know snakes probably don't feel love, but they do show trust and that just made my heart so full haha. Anyway, what a good night! [emoji4]

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Feeding night. Took her first weaned rat. She seemed to take it no problem expect for missing the first strike and getting a mouthful of ecoearth. I'll give her some extra peace and quiet the next couple days

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Got my T8 in a couple days ago! Got it all put together and the RHP installed. Letting in run now to get rid of any fumes! Set up the tstat last night and am getting temps dialed in. I'm excited to upgrade my baby! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8ee15a0b5e.jpg

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Alright! I've installed my LED lights, bottom of enclosure is sealed with silicone, and all the lights and cables are siliconed in place. No more smell coming from the RHP. Just waiting on her new branch and some more substrate now. Should be here by the end of the week so I am almost ready for my dry run!
I thought about doing a bioactive setup but have decided against it since it would make cleaning too difficult with these cage dimensions. I will, however have some live potted plants in the enclosure to help keep up humidity. Since they will be potted, I can remove them if I need to for cleaning. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d8a03db4e0.jpg

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
It's moving day!! Got everything all set up last night and let the RHP run. Had to make a tiny adjustment to the thermostat setting this morning, after a quick question here, and verything looks perfect now. I think I'm ready to put her in tonight! I plan to put her in maybe about 30 minutes before the light turns off this evening, which is about an hour before it fully dark outside. I'm so excited!
(Btw, that is an LED light for the live plants in there, it's on a timer, 10 hrs on, 14 hrs off.)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d50c489898.jpg

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
I got a weight on Luna yesterday while cleaning her cage. 498g! Nearly four times what she weighed when I brought her home!

Woah, getting huge! Great looking setup. Where'd you get all the accessories?

Well the water bowl is just an exo terra xl. The vines are plastic and from the dollar store. The live potted pothos in there were propagated from two parent plants I have had for quite a while. The grapevine I got from a vineyard that sells on etsy, however I've since had to remove it and repurpose for my bioactive enclosure due to some mold growth, she has a new piece of heat treated driftwood on the way. The cork tube came from Pangea, I bought in bulk from them for my bioactive build, and have a few pieces left over. Her hides are Reptile Basics.
She's getting big but she's all muscle! She still seems pretty small to me lol i can't wait til she hits 1000g+. If the size of her parents is any indicator, she's gonna be a BIG girl lol

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
I love it when they are introduced to a new home and explore some. I tend to let them find a little food surprise laying around also. Hide..... Food..... Water.... check check check...……. Then they settle down to digest. Love it.

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Okay rearranged the enclosure. Had to get a new piece of wood. Didn't take any chances with this one. Soaked in vinegar/water to kill off any possible mold spores, then heat treated in the oven for good measure. Moved her water bowl farther away from the RHP because humidity was on the high side. Humidity dropping much faster now. Sitting about 75% on cool end and 70% on warm end and dropping steadily. Much better than mid 80's!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bc1b85f64b.jpg

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Well Luna has officially graduated to the large size RBI hides. She still fit inside the medium size, however the doorway is too small for her now and I had to weigh them down by sticking ceramic tiles to the tops of them with silicone to keep her from lifting them up when she coiled up inside. Once I saw she had to really squish her body to get thru the doorway, even without a meal, I decided it was time to switch them out.
I have lots of extra substrate tucked into these to make the inside more cozy but she seems okay with the change!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4137db92c5.jpg

Re: Luna the Bamboo BP
Over the last couple of months, with the help of my dad, I built a stand from scratch for Luna's enclosure, so she doesn't have to live on top of my dresser anymore!! The bottom part will eventually house a cornsnake enclosure, but for now it will be storage for substrate and other supplies. She will be moving in tonight after I'm done heat treating the substrate that I've had to store in my outdoor closet for the past few months. I'm really happy with it!!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b079fd7912.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...604a8ae3dd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a96e0bf8f1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...48dc069908.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1b3eaa320e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e19ea074e5.jpg
