Ok so I went through and re did my setup, probe between the glass and the uth, glass temps at the highest are 92 degrees. Got my 2 acurite thermo/hydrometers in and recording temps. 90 degrees at best on the substrate of the hot side. My humidity is hanging around 70-72% in the enclosure is this ok?

if I get all this right and setup I’ll order the 80 watt rhp, proportional thermostat and the hides as that would be my last purchase other than the fake plants for the enclosure

My only suggestion is to drop your hot spot to 88-89. Some care sheets do say 92, but I keep mine below 90. I started lowering them a bit once I read that more keepers and breeders are finding better results by going a bit lower.
But again, that's just my two cents. Check around and do what you think is best. There's obviously no "one right way". You're already showing how important this is to you and it'll pay off for both you and your new pet.

And then as you gain experience, you'll learn the snake's body language, mannerisms, etc...and be able to tweak things a bit for what works best for you and your snake.

I admittedly don't "follow all the rules", but I've learned over years and have tweaked things for what works for me and my snakes.
The advice I give to new keepers is based on my experience, my research and what is known to be "the standard". Then once you've got the basics down, you can determine what is best in your particular situation.

I totally agree with you, Once I’m in the range I can tweak what needs to be tweaked. I’m just slightly concerned about the humidity but the more I research the 70-75 % range seems to be normal for where I live and being close to the ocean and obviously summer time weather. I’m going to be keeping a close eye on it but I would be happy at the 65% range.

do you think the rhp will eat up some of that humidity? And what do you run for a ambient air temp? Surface temps?

I've only got one RHP and it came with the Boaphile enclosure it's in. So I can't really compare and contrast accurately. But I do know that they are notoriously better for humidity control than bulbs/CHEs.

I run ambient temps around 84, with the cool side around 78-80. As well as the 88-89 hotspot.

For humidity, I keep my BPs in the 50-60% range and bump it to 65-70 during sheds.

Ok so I’m looking at rhp’s and I’m curious what’s size I may need.... the 40 watt is 12x12x2 but the 80 watt is 12.5x22.5x2, my ambient temps currently with my uth run about 70 degrees F.im just curious if these need to be small enough to create a temp gradient and fit mostly on the hot side. My enclosure is 18 w x 18 tall x 36 long. I’m just curious if the 80 watt is gonna be too much or if the 40 watt is not enough, or if it’s adequate I’m basically looking to bump ambient temps 10 degrees or so and fit it nicely inside my tank, any advice is greatly appreciated....

im ready to order but I’m so indecisive, I do have a thermostat picked out tho, exo terra proportional 600w dimming .

Unfortunately I can't help you there. I've haven't actually shopped for one yet. The only one I have came with the enclosure.

I read about a guy using a 40w rbi heat panel in conjunction with a uth with good results, so I think I’m gonna go that route, it all makes sense in my head so.......yea, I’ll place an order, I’m also waiting on a reply from pro products about sizing and pricing so I’ll wait n see what happens there. Once I get it I’ll post up specs, temps , and assembly pics.:pc::pc::pc::pc:
