Nah, you’ll be amazed at how much you pick up. Many of us that have been keeping for years were pretty much flying by the seat of our pants early on. There were books and some reputable shops, but a lot was trial and error. As you’ve seen here, many of us have different ways of acheiving the same results (tanks, tubs, plastic or pvc caging and under tank heaters, ceramic heat emitters, heat lamps, or radiant heat panels). There are so many sources online, at shows, and good old books, that you can research quite a bit before taking the plunge.

As a side note, you’ll see that quite a few folks come home from shows with unplanned pets. If you really do find that we are a bad influence and mess up your timeline, you can always set up a basic tub or two before the next show. My quarantine tub for Selene has a Jumpstart thermostat from Amazon and a basic uth from PetSmart. Sabrina is set up with an Ultratherm heat mat and is also on a Jumpstart thermostat.
