Louie showing what conserving energy is all about lol. Guy is a lounge lizard unless he smells food. Then he goes CRAZY. He is by far my most gung ho eater. He will strike the cage doors for an hour after eating until his food drive settles down.

He is so nice and his head looks so much like my female bcl , her food drive is just the same and when she’s not fired up in food mode she’s just so chilled too

Haha yeah, no ones wants to pose when i get them outside. They all just want to explore except Dottie today. I think she was sleeping when i dragged her outside. She kept trying to hide her head instead of her usual exploring self.

The food drive you talk about here made me laugh a little. Lucy my girlfriend's RTB is to much of a lady to strike. She politely comes out. Sniffs the rat. Then drags it slowly in her hide. She is to much of a Lady to stoop to striking. LOL. He looks great and thanks for sharing.

And we got Louie also enjoying the cool breeze from a box fan in the window blowing air on the open doors of the cages.

Thanks. Yeah Louie has a lot of the rainbow sheen going on. He should darken up a little more still as BCL reach their peak color at about 3 years old. Until then, they are kind of like ugly ducklings. Kind of wild too as he is het anery, not visual, yet is still pretty dark.

Does he behave like your other boas?

    He’s really cool looking IMO.

No, he is really shy. Took over a year for him to get more or less used to me. He's really curious and LOVES to climb. He also LOVES food even more than Caesar i think and that is saying a lot lol. I have been told by a lot of people with BCL that being extra shy and taking a long time to warm up to someone is normal behavior for the species. They definitely arent a BCI or BCC as far as boldness goes lol.

And yeah, i like the look of BCLs too. They are like mother natures IMG boa. Also they arent very common. The founder of BCL Fanatics FB page who breeds lots of BCLs like Denton and i believe Bessette lines told me the Meltzer line of BCLs is a pretty hard line to find nowadays. She also told me Louie is pretty dark for not being a visual anery and only just turning 2 years old. But anyways, BCL are different than BCI and BCC except for feeding. They also prefer it a little cooler as they come from the Tumbes area in Peru which is overall cooler with lows in the mid to high 60s. I almost never catch Louie on the flexwatt.

He's gorgeous! Can't wait for Artemis to gain in size and to see how her coloring will end up. Hopefully half as awesome as Louie!

Thanks. Louie is still a baby. He just turned 2 years old. He was a really dark baby to start with. From what i was told, with how dark he was at such a young age, that he should be anery but he is only het anery. So figure in another year, he should top out in color.

Louie is so pretty. I cannot wait for Longo to get some size, but he is already getting darker with more shed. Also, mine is QUITE shy with a pretty crazy food response, so that sounds right on the money.

Haha, yeah Louie is a chicken unless he smells foods. Then he is very bold lol. He is coming around though and does come out to explore if i open a door. Nothing like Gina or the other boas, who are out front and following me around when i walk by. If i open all the doors and time it right, its almost like an audience at a tennis game watching the ball go back and forth, me being the ball :P

New Years update for Louie!! He’s a couple months over 3.5 years old and he has hit 4 feet. Think his colors have set in too. Like this little guy although he is definitely a food happy snake. He was sleeping so he was less than happy for me to lift his hide and shove my phone at him lol.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8edfd2156e.jpg
