The same thing happened to me once! Lol, it was stuck to the inside of the hide. They like to poop on there, for some reason. And youre welcome!

Looks good to me. As long as she doesnt look like she has a football in her stomach, it was a good sized meal. Did she go back in her hide?

Also, go with your feeding schedule. Dont over feed, and make sure the mouse is fully thawed

What a mess!!! Today is feeding day and Kira as usual wakes up and is ready for action as soon as she smells mouse.

I offered, she bit immediately and rolled slightly (as usual) and I thought or didn't thought, what if... I simulate the mouse is still alive by moving it a little with the tongs? [emoji848]

DUMB!!! She squished the bejesus out of that mouse! I swear she was gonna pop it! squished for like 10 min. Then she wasn't able to let go, her teeth were stuck on the mouses' belly so she dragged it all around (that was actually funny).

    https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4c027c6984.jpg

By the time she managed to let go, she was on her water bowl, yup! dinner took a bath. And the mouse all covered in blood. The weirdest thing was how much time she took to find the head.

    https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f6a9292f84.jpg

First tried the tail (failed), went back to the torso (fail), smelled the head and went back to the tail... that for other 10 min.

She finally found the head and swallowed inside her water, she definitely ingested a serious amount of bloody water. Hope it don't affect her digestion.

Moral? DON'T PLAY WITH THE FOOD!!!

Ok so today will be cleaning day. I haven't found much info on the topic maybe because it is a no brainer for normal people, but fortunately may parents always hired aid for cleaning so I've found the rough way I never developed those skills (when I moved on my own I couldn't tell between the washing machine and the dryer) LOL! I'm improving!!! One step at a time. [emoji13]

Ok so step by step the plan is:
    1. Put Kira on my biggest tupperweare with a shirt inside and cover it, not sealed.
    2. Remove the decors and put everything on a tub to deal with later.
    3. Disassemble al the lights, misting system, UTH, etc. and take the tub to the yard.
    3. Dispose the substrate, soak it, apply product, let it sit for 5-10 min, scrub, rinse thoroughly and dry.
    4. Pretty much the same for the hides, just watter and hand rubbing por the plastic plants.
    5. New substrate, put everything back.
    6. Play with Kira for a while, and then put her back in.

And that's it?!?! If I am missing something Or got something wrong pleas let me know. Thanks!!!!

Am I right in thinking the snake wasn't left in a secure rub / tub / container ?? May have misread it .

Anyways I always put mine in spare viv but a RUB would suffice obviously .

    Everything else seems great .
    I use diluted F10 as a disinfectant incidentally .

Hi everyone, I have a question I haven't found much info about... I think husbandry and feeding is extremely well documented, like someone posted "seems like groundhog day posts" LOL over and over again. The thing is, I have a female BP and have little to no idea of what to expect when the day comes that she becomes fertile, I don't plan to mate her, sit will she be laying eggs? or what will happen when that day come? Will she be needing any extra care or attention? Will I need to buy her tampons? hahaha just kidding there.

    Thanks for any comment/info/advice.

I am in love both with your snake and your viv! Never thought to decorate like that! Awesome job.
I'm also wondering about fertile females since I have one too :) I hope someone can shed some light on that topic :)

I've had many female Royals over the years and never had any issues ... I don't breed of course just keep them as display animals / pets .

    Re: First BP.
Something curios happened the other day. I usually handle kira while on my bed watching tv. And she is trying to throw herself off the bed and I try to stop her from doing so. Oh by the way she is still kind of skittish, all my moves have to be very slow and gentile and she has to se my hand approaching, otherwise she would get scared and jump back. Never tagged just jumping backwards.

The other day we watched a whole movie while she was just curled under my hand just moving a little her head from one side to the other and I was rubbing her back with my thumb. This is an extremely unusual behavior for her.

But the really weird thing was that when I got up to put her back and slowly took my hand off of her she got super scared and jumped back super fast. I usually know what scares her and try not to do it, but this was completely unprovoked [emoji15]. Don't know what I did to get that reaction, I stretched to turn on the lights before moving my hand, moved super slowly, I even got my body to some distance so she wouldn't feel like with someone on top of her. That was just weird. [emoji51]

    Hi again everyone!
I have a question if someone could please help me.
Two weeks ago I changed Kira from mouse to rat fuzzies f/t, she didn't seemed interested (wired she ate like a pig) after offering without success I left it for a couple of hrs, when I went back to see, it was gone.

Last week I tried the same but nothing, first week she doesn't eat since she's with me. Tonight she was very interested, she flicked all around like crazy but not taking it, I left it in the enclosure and she went to smell and see what was it she even moved it with her nostrils a little, but she is just not eating.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks people!!!

making the switch can be difficult for some beeps, but if she has taken a rat before i would not give her a mouse ever again. be patient, hunger always wins. just make sure not to offer too soon after a refusal, as this can lead to stress. next feeding turn out as many lights as possible, make sure the rat is nice and warm and offer it asap, see what happens.

    Re: First BP.
Has anyone had an experience like this?

Today my rat provider told me he didn't have any rats the size Kira is taking. Instead he gave me 2 smaller rats.

Kira took the first like usual. And 5 minutes after she swallowed I warmed the second and as soon as I was lowering it, she struck with a violence she has never before, with a single bite she tore the skin and broke the back. BUT didn't took it, as fast as she hit, she disappeared into her hide. Leaving the destroyed rat behind.

I've never seen anything like that before.
