Progression Thread?

Always an interesting time when feeding this little dude. I've had my little guy 7 days today, its KILLING ME to not be able to go in there and handle him so we can start our relationship. Gonna see if he eats for me today and if so maybe in a couple days we can begin the hands on after digestion. Loving the story line. Hope my relationship is similar!

Trust me it's worth the wait! My little noodle was quick to adjust. He was very anxious the first day which was to be expected. Best of luck with yours! Can't wait to hear more from you and your little guy. Just remember you have a long time with him so letting him have his settling period will be well worth your patience:)

Lil chunker doesn't wanna be bothered today since he's deep in shed. Gonna see if he's willing to eat today! [emoji28]

Coming home to a fresh banana! Jumbi had an aalllmosttt complete shed. Just the very very tip of the tail was left. I'm still extremely excited!

Welp, I officially suck at feeding my little dude. Today was feeding day and he was going to get 3 mice (still on the mice. I know [emoji849]) and I dropped one in front of him and one in the water bowl [emoji23]. Anyway, I'm gonna wait for him to hide. Not risking sticking my hand in there as sweet as he is outside of feeding day lol.

Here's something I never thought I would be posting about..

I came home to feed Jumbi, opened the enclosure... AND THERE WAS NO SNAKE TO FEED!

I had an escapee and now I know what it feels like to temporarily lose a child [emoji28] you guys are probably gonna give me crap for it, probably deserve it. I have no idea how he got out of his enclosure, but I know they're pure muscle, so I suspect he got out through the tiny cage door on the lid. I think he used his climbing sticks to support his body and pushed through the corner of the latch..

I frantically looked everywhere for him in my room and found him 30 minutes later wedged in my bookshelf right next to where he's set up. I knew they don't tend to wander far off the tank plus the mini space heater was right in front of it.

Thankfully he's okay. He was only out for about 12 hours. Now he's back, fed, and the latch is temporarily blocked off by a heavy ceramic saucer.

Lesson learned. I feel terrible that this happened. Definitely going to be figuring out ways to make it more secure. At least he'll be digesting for 2 days and I can figure things out in the meantime.

Glad he's back! I had a corn snake get loose once. My wife was deathly afraid of snakes but she wanted me to be able to have one so bad so she surprised me on my birthday with a really cool orange corn snake. I don't even remember what kind it was. This was like 1994 time frame. It got out and we didn't find it for like a week. She couldn't sleep and though it would kill our newborn. I found him wedged in between the wall and the desk that his enclosure was sitting on. He stayed there the whole time. Needless to say they snake went away and I didn't get another snake until we weren't married anymore. Glad you got him back!!

I'm glad too! I couldn't imagine not knowing where he was for a week. 30 minutes was long enough! [emoji28][emoji28]I put him in the shoe box while I was fixing his cage and I noticed him pushing the lid up with his body and as soon as there was a tiny crack, he poked his head through! Merry (belated) Christmas you guys! Or Boxing Day for you Europeans! Jumbi has decided to leave me a present.. after almost a month's worth of wait, he finally pooped!

It's funny because he still looks like a tiny noodle to me haha! And yeah, the spots are coming in quick and he's browning out a bit but he still has some great oranges on his side. My phone photos never does his colors justice lol.

So literally after I posed that ^ I fed him and he took another big poop and now he's eating next to it [emoji23] snakes are amazing lol

Yeah the pics don't do mine justice either. Although he doesn't have the oranges your boy does. He gets spottier by the week. Such a cool morph. So happy to have him. He's up to 425 grams now and is eating like a champ. He went through mini fast when I first got him but he is on track now.

That's awesome to hear! I've never had a problem with Jumbi's appetite. I can always count on him to eat lol. And I love seeing the varieties on bananas. But all of em are beautiful regardless!

I'm so in love with his in-blue colors LOL! And I love when coral glow/banana has black speckles, it's so appealing to me.
