Ahh...the Tan! Bob Bennett's bunny (Raising Rabbits the Modern Way *or something like that*). He sure seemed to like them, I've never seen one in person.

My first rabbits were black NZ's. Later, a lady sold me her entire rabbitry of ageing (and matted!) English Angoras. Currently keeping three breeding pairs of Champagne D'Argent. LOVE the Champagnes. Big, beautiful, easy-going bunnies. I'll also occasionally take in someone's unwanted pet as well.

(Stakefast, sorry about the thread drift.)

Enjoy him! Albino burms are king of the snake world IMO.

    Update #4
Well he shed about a week ago, offered him a live rabbit and a frozen/thaw one. Didn't care to even bite one of them basically stayed defensive. His new enclosure was just payed for so she is going to start creating it... About the feeding, what could be his issue? I understand its a new place but jeez.

Do you know what he was being fed before? Has he ever been offered a rabbit or only rats? My largest boa grudgingly ate rabbits for a while, then stopped eating for three months until I offered her a jumbo rat a few minutes after she turned her nose up at the rabbit. She hit the rat like a freight train.

When will we get a pic of this fantastic animal?! And you sound like you are treating him ten times better then the original people. Kiddos to you!

He was previously fed normal rats, and never offered a rabbit. (never a jumbo, the previous owner couldn't afford them). So perhaps i will try to put a jumbo rat in-front of him.:):):)

As for the pictures ill definitely upload more tomorrow. I only have two of him up right now.:gallery:

Just looked at your pics and what a beautiful snake. You did a great thing for this animal and hopefully all goes well for you and your Burm. Also you have come to the best place for help - I can't imagine what kind of mess I would have it I hadn't dropped in here and read everything in sight (still do, everyday, most days multiple times).

    any pics of your burm?

If he sheds soon, that will help a lot with the mites. I had my Ginger on paper towels when she had mites.

Walmart always sells big Rubbermaid tubs for storage, and they are very inexpensive. Of course, you'll have to make oxygen holes and use luggage straps.

FYI.....if u go to a Rabbit show, do NOT tell anyone that you're going to feed the bunny to your snake.....you'll get lynched, lol. I'm just kidding with you....

Sounds like you're doing your best with this big boy! That's all that anyone could ever ask of you. Good job [emoji216]

https://youtu.be/xA10psS1IBs There's a video of him. There were small dogs nearby so I put him in this little fence I have. I decided to name him Helios after the Greek sun god. I'm ordering retired breeders from monster feeders. Hoping he'll eat them.

Helios is handsome! So glad you took him in.

I'm curious. Is he scared of the little dogs?
VPI has a paper somewhere (IIRC, it is on their site) stating that Burmese tend to be naturally terrified of even tiny dogs. Apparently, small wild dogs would run in packs of a hundred or more in their native habitat - at that point the giant snake became the prey. Not sure if the wild dogs are now extinct there, or not.

He does actually get defensive around small dogs and even large dogs. I always thought it was because he saw them as a menu item. Thanks for the info i haven't heard or read that anywhere yet! All of this knowledge is AMAZING!:bow: Also thanks for the compliments peoples!

    Final update
Learned its normal from another site. Feeding jumbo rats were a success. Guess he only likes them. Mites are now 100% gone. he is now 100% healthy. now for the happy part to come back from my step mothers.
