Doesn't look anything like my two black lace. But it sure is a nice dark pretty one.

Cut eggs today. Saw some interesting stuff in there. Updates coming in a few days.

Re: My dark girl
No idea what she might be but she sure is a pretty girl huh? Was gonna say "sultry" but does that mean dark and sexy?

Pipped on day 50. Huge sigh of relief when i saw these two. Everyone else is laying inverted, but I think i see a pewter in another egg.
:please:Always a gamble putting a het to a het. :please:

Re: My dark girl
Always a gamble when you put a 66 or a 50 percent het with a het lol. Never a guarantee that you'll get anything

true but then again there are no guarentees when you place an 100% het to a 100% het. either.
an friend of mine had that in a clutch that hatched in 2013 pairing was 2 100% albino and no albino in a 5 egg clutch, in 2014 both the 100% het animals proved out and he had 4 albinos in a 6 egg clutch ;)
i know he was just very very unluck with the cluth that hatched in 2013 but it can happen.

Amen, and Amen.
You are both so right.
Now if only any of them hatch out looking like momma I may be onto something here :confusd:
-
Re: My dark girl
Yes it requires luck. But you are gambling on the actual het part when it's 50-66%, because you actually don't know. When you buy 100% het guarantee you'll get an actual visual sooner or later. Just requires luck. We were lucky with our het and het. Got 4 albinos and 3 normals this year. I'm only saying that it is a gamble when you purchase a 50 or 66%. Because there's no guarantee that they are het. Therefore a gamble on it.

We purchased both snakes from reputable breeders, but still, until you see the hatch, we were holding our breath:D

I just worked 2 doubles, and just walked in the door. Looks like they all have absorbed most of their yolks, and are about ready to come out. most of them are pretty simple to identify, but one is still a mystery! Cannot wait for them to come out!
As for momma, she's staying right with me for a while. :D May have a baby available from her in a month or two though.

Re: My dark girl
Two of those guys with the striping almost look like a mutated highway ball with the yellow striping and black borders

I see 2 cinnis, a pastel, a pewter, a genetic stripe, and a pastel genetic stripe. They look great. I do not see darkness influence though:( I was hoping to see a super dark baby in there.
-
Re: My dark girl
From that pictura I would say that pastel is actually pastel/mother. It has the donuts, and the pattern of the mother. Maybe?

TRUTH!
However, The mother looked like a NORMAL until she was about 800g, then she just got darker and darker every shed, until she looked like she does now. SO, we may hold all of the babies back a while, to be double sure no color change takes place as they age.

Agreed 100%
The Pastel, and the Pewter both seem to have those distinct circles along the spine like the mother does. They are both deep in shed at the moment, but I look forward to posting some detailed pictures of each as they shed. The pastel is the more noticable of the two for sure.

Well, It's been a long time coming. Here are the pics from the Mystery Girl het GS x Pewter het GS clutch.
Here are the Dam & Sire.

And, here are the NOODLES!
Cinnamon#1
Almost certainly a het GS
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...nnamon1-11.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...nnamon1-13.jpg
Cinnamon #2 Just looks like a plain Jane Cinnamon. Who knows though?
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r.../Cinnamon2.jpg
Pastel. Looks pretty standard, with the exception of the little Donut markings on the back. Very similar to the Dam.
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...man/Pastel.jpg
Pewter. Looks to be het GS. Interesting markings and coloration.
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/Pewter-2.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/Pewter-1.jpg
Genetic Stripe. Looks pretty standard! Couldn't be happier with this little guy. We'll see how his color holds up as he ages.
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...icStripe-1.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...eticStripe.jpg
Pastel Genetic Stripe. (Banana Dance)

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...G-Stripe-2.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...elG-Stripe.jpg
Annnnnd a couple of the Stripes together.

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...n/Stripes1.jpg
So that's it. The last clutch of the year, and the one we were waiting on. Now, we will need to wait a year or so to see if they exhibit any sort of color shift the way the dam did.

Re: My dark girl
Absolutely beautiful snakes, I can't wait to see if any of them darken up like the mother
-
Re: My dark girl
Beautiful and will be interesting to see how their colors change or not over next months keep us updated :)
-
Certainly will. A couple show some promising signs, but I think this will be a long process as far as trying to prove anything out.
-
Aaand she just keeps getting darker. Too big to fit in the photo-box now, so, I apologize for the awful pics. Last one is her compared to a normal female of comparable age.

I'll try for better pics next time lol.
-
What about some baby updates???
-
Yeah i wanna see some babies.... the mom is rediculious love how dark she is
-
Tagging cuz she's beautiful.
-
Any chance on some update photo's of the youngsters?
-
Thanks folks.
Sold off the babies except the Pastel G-Stripe male, who will be bred back to her, hopefully next year.
Try to get better pics of her up soon, and a couple pics of him in the near future.
-
Wow, I can't believe the difference in her color, even comparing the first pictures in this thread to the recent update. She's amazingly dark.
It's too bad the babies weren't held back after all to see if any darken up. Any chance the buyers will keep in touch and let you know?
-
All babies were sold to the same person. She has the year off to gain weight, and will be bred back to her son this fall (hopefully)
-
I love how shiny and iridescent she is. On of my girls is dark, but not that dark!
-
-
This is insane how she has changed over the years.
-
Finally got a picture back of her son who will be breeding back to her this year. Pastel Genetic Stripe.....and whatever else it is he has going on genetically.

Re: My dark girl
This doubles our chances of seeing if it's genetic . same as Philips this looked like a reduced normal! When it was 600gs it went darker and darker with every shed
