I've been a little busy lately, but I just wanted to give a quick update on my last two clutches of the year.
Clutch results for Hypo Enchi x Fire het Hypo
3.0 Fire het hypo
0.2 Enchi het Hypo
2.1 het Hypo
Here are the fires and an enchi from the clutch.

Awesome clutch!! Those mojos have some amazing flames :D can't wait to see some after shed pics.

I would take a picture of the Mojave Yellowbellies next to the one you have called a Mojave, I'm seeing some real similar markings (smaller alien heads with granite markings in some). When I hatched out a clutch from an Orangebelly x Mojave, I had 4 that ended up being Orangebelly Mojaves, and the comparison picture really helped me figure that out (I thought I couldn't be lucky enough to get 4 Orangebelly Mojaves, but I did). Take a look at how the Orangebelly Mojave looks next to a Mojave http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...esome-Odds!!!!. You might have had better results than you thought.

As always- Nice babies!! Keep up the great work :gj:

As it turns out, there is a little more to this clutch. I purchased the Mojave het hypo sire from Jon Courtney in 2011 and hatched a few cool looking babies last season in addition to these guys. Jon contacted me to see if I had bred the male, and after seeing photos of animals from this clutch and last season, it looks like the Mojave het hypo sire is actually a Mojave Nazca het Hypo. :D
With that said, the above animals are likely (in order of posting) a Mojave Nazca Yellow Belly, Mojave Yellow Belly possible Nazca, and a Mojave Nazca. One of the normals (first one on the list) is a Nazca.
I'm thrilled with those results, and they're also ph Hypo too. :D

I thought there was more to them. I still think a group shot of the 3 Mojave combinations would be neat and helpful for learning the differences. Congratulations on a great clutch!

Definitely and thank you! I'm going to wait for them to go through their first shed, and then I'll position them so that they'll show off their pattern.
I forgot to mention this earlier, but the animals you hatched are exceptional. I really like that orangebelly mojave. :gj:

Thanks. I bought the father (the male Orangebelly) of that clutch at a Columbia Repticon back in 2010 and he has been a great breeder for me. The Orangebelly Mojave is such a simple combination, but one of my favorites. The Mystic x Mojave clutch just finished shedding, so I plan to take some updated pictures today or tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing how your guys look after shedding! I expect that the colors of your Move combinations will really pop. Enjoy them.

They look good. I can't wait to see them after they shed. I think the post shed side by side pictures will be real helpful to see the subtle differences between the combinations. Good looking hatchlings!

I definitely agree. It's easier to see the differences in person. Looking at the photo with the three animals, the two on the outside have a more rusty coloration to them. Once they shed and the baby sheen is gone, hopefully that'll be able to be easily picked up by the camera.

Isn't it hard to wait for them to shed to see that difference? I've got a clutch with some surprise results that I need to shed before I can even guess as to what 2 of them are.

Nice looking animals. I'm really looking forward to the comparison shots.

Re: lyfoti05's 2013-14 Breeding Season Thread
Great looking snakes. The differences are very subtle and hard to pick out. The alien heads are very cool, with the Granite like appearance. The blushing is also a nice trait. In the second comparison picture, I felt as if the Yellowbelly gene brought more of a gold look to the yellow, but based on the first comparison picture, I'm not so sure. What features/markings are you finding to differentiate between them?

The camera settings for all of the photos are identical, but depending on how I position myself to take the photo relative to the fixed animals (and lights), it seems like the colors can get changed ever so slightly.
For this photo, I also put the Mojave Nazca Yellow Belly next to the Mojave Nazca in the group shot. The Mojave Nazca Yellow Belly does have a more gold shade to the yellow than the Mojave Nazca's paler yellow. Awhile ago, I was talking to my friend when he was comparing the look of his paler fireflies to the bolder look of his firefly yellow bellies. I would think something a little similar is occurring here.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...52735292_o.jpg
One thing to consider for the blushing is that the hypo gene is also in play. For the few animals I have hatched out that are hets (in other clutches produced from a visual hypo), the color in the hets tends to get jacked up, which also could be going on here.
Talking with Jon, one of the things to look at is the granite speckles in the neck pattern. The Mojave Nazca Yellow Belly and the Mojave Nazca have that. As far the Mojave Yellow Belly possible Nazca is concerned, she has a dot or two instead of being really speckled like the other two, but the neck pattern is really funky and very elongated. The other two animals seem to have more of rusty tone to them, while the possible Nazca girl has an overall coloration that reminds me of her dad when I first purchased him.
Here is the Mojave Nazca het Hypo I bought from Jon. Take note of the neck pattern.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...75763713_o.jpg
For the determination of the yellow belly aspect, I'm looking at the dorsal striping. For the Mojave Nazca, I'm seeing more regular striping, compared to the animals with yellow belly that have little J-hooks coming from the dorsal stripe. Their pattern looks a little less uniform compared to the Mojave Nazca in my opinion, but maybe that's just me.
Anyways, I'm still learning, but those are a few observations. Jon is the Nazca master. :D

Thanks for detailing what you are looking for. I too have noticed that het Hypo can influence the blushing of an animal. That's great that Jon is helping you identify the genes, because, like you said, John is the Nazca master, and has a very skilled eye at identifying Nazca, Paint, and the other genes that share those characteristics.
Please keep us updated with pictures as they grow.

Sure thing! Here is one of the sire's babies from last season. The first photo was taken in November and the second was taken about last week.
