Re: I don't want them breed! What can I do?
The rack system has heat tape attached to it on the back bottom of the drawers for the tubs, my particular rack system has 2 rows 4 inch strips per drawer which helps with the coldness of my room, I'm A little lazy to post a picture of my own heat tape but here is a decent picture of a single row of heat tape setup.

Keep in mind that the heat tape is hooked up to a thermostat which has a probe taped to the heat tape to control the temperature.

    These are amazing! http://spyderrobotics.com/home/products.html

These changed my life from always worrying if the temperature was correct using an analogue

thermostat and an additional low accuracy digital thermometer.

I was literally fretting over it daily!

May I ask if any of you kindly share links of shops which are willing to ship things to HK without costing a fortune? I sometime buy things from the US for my dogs and the shipping fee was much higher than the products. Those I believe it's not possible for me to order any tanks or tubs for my snakes because of the size, I would be happy to keep the links just in case I really can't get anything I want here. Thanks!!

Dakota11 : Dont' worry, I feed my snakes in separately tanks.

angllady2: Thanks for your understanding. I have found a plastic CD box and have just used a scissors to cut it up. Doesn't look fancy at all as I don't have other tool to do the cutting but the scissors :P

Thank also for the reminder that my snakes may need a little bit time to adapt to the changes.
I do find people here are very helpful, and I can tell you are all animal lovers who care not only your pets but to help other to take care of their animals well.

southwind: Thanks for sharing information of the heat tape. I have never seen anything like this here.

here's one that's good. The Bean Farm, they ship worldwide. Not sure of cost. You might also try American Ebay. Some sellers have pet products and ship internationally. here's the link:

The storage tubs we use are for going under a bed. I suspect that since the apartments are small in HK, people sell a product like this so you can store clothes and things under a bed.

The hide is OK, but if it were lower it would be better. If they have been living 12 years in the cage how you show it above I am thinking they are no longer afraid of being a little exposed and that will be just fine.

    Good luck!

In either situation, separating them will solve the problem. Even though they've been "fine" for twelve years, that does not mean they are in as ideal a situation as you have the power to provide them.

I seen this and I just chuckled a bit because I was just reading something on the news about gay marriage.

I wonder if they're maybe just boyfriends? I'm sorry if I offend anybody with my little joking, I'm just attempting to make a few people laugh.

    treeboa: Thanks for the link!

MrLang: In fact, my snakes are very active. When I bought them, I intended to choose those which did not curl like a ball but moving around. So, they do ... move around a lot.

Neal: It's fine. Thanks for your sense of humour ^^

Another reason they may be so active is because they are always competing.

Crazymonkee: oh... I see. They are now in different tanks. I will observe them closely and see if they stop moving that much. :)

Obviously as they become comfortable with there environment they will move around. Which is perfectly normal... mostly at night, but if they were on the move a lot I would say it was competition thing.

See, you are getting the idea already!

You for sure might want to check Ebay. You can find many, many, many things there and if you shop carefully, shipping is not unreasonable. Much better usually than an actual store would be. You might even be surprised by how much you can find that is close to you and shipping would be very low. It's worth looking into.

samthemanz3n : So, do you mean they are one boy and one girl??? How do you be so sure as many people have told me they are both boys? If they are a boy and a girl, does it mean they can live together? :confusd:

No even if they are opposite sex they still are not social animals. They still compete and try to dominate whether same sex or opposite sex.

This is actually a pretty good shot of male dominance behavior, they're wrestling to see who's best. I haven't actually seen this much in ball pythons but in other species they'll wrap each other up and slam each other into the ground to show who's strongest. NOT mating behaviour.

I'm glad to see you did separate them! That picture that is quoted above by Mark is all I needed to see to know they are both male.

If they were both female, I would say just keep them together, but this dominance combating is not a good sign and one of the snakes will end up feeling really crappy about himself after :(

Its not impossible to co house ball pythons, but it is just so much easier to keep them in their own home :)
