Hello, got a baby corn!

So sorry I haven't been posting! I ended up with some rescue corns (9 babies - 3 were in the egg when they arrived) so I've been dealing with that. 4 have eaten and one hasn't. The others haven't even had their first shed yet!

I hope your little one decides to eat for you. I have a feeling I'm going to be trying some of these tricks here pretty soon.

I hope your new guys decide to eat faster then mine! Lol, today is another attempt, gonna place the food, wait a couple hours, if he doesn't eat on his own, assist time, but on a bright note it's also feeding day for my bps!! So I'll at least have something eat!!

I left food with my babies in a deli cup overnight and that did the trick. They like some privacy I guess

I've still got 4 of 8 babies left. 3 haven't shed yet and only one refused her first meal. Trying again on Saturday and adding first meals to those who have shed. I hope you get some luck soon!

Thank you me too!! Lol, I'm going to keep trying like I have been, but I'm starting to lose hope, but I won't give up!! Got a reptile show at the end of the month tho and if my guy starts by then I will be getting another! Man I hope he starts eating!!!!

So he refused again!!:mad: Didn't feel like assist feeding last night so that will be done either tonight or tomorrow

Frozen thawed rubbed all against one of my friends anole lizards, really thought that this would have worked... :(

Assist fed two pinkie legs, one with a good little chunk of chest meat, and I am sure it's cause either I am getting more used to the assisting but he seamed like he took it way easier, after I got the leg to his throat it was all him, hopefully next feeding he'll do it on his on! Either way I'll keep updating!

Sometimes it's takes a few assist feeds. I have one baby corn (of eight) that has refused all his meals. I'm about to have to assist feed him and I am TERRIBLY nervous since I've never had to assist feed anything. Time to start doing my research...

I feel awful for you! I'm sure you feel like giving up, but you won't! I wonder how many people saw that corn and didn't take him home. You did! What a story you'll have to tell when he's 20 years old and pounding mice!

I'm so glad that he went home with you, and not someone who would have given up on him. I'm sorry that it's been so frustrating :sigh2:

Just keep at it and don't lose hope. Last one I had to assist didn't eat for over the first four months. Every week, he was given a chance and every other week, he was assist/ tube fed. It was about the time I was ready to throw my hands in the air and give up that he surprised me by eating his first pinkie. Once that happened, he never looked back. I'm pretty sure they just like giving their owners grey hair. ;)
