Freaking out!! Fire to Normal makes white snake?!!

Wow this is too crazy. Def looks like a super fire to me. These snakes are so weird....

He wasn't flicking his tongue, but is now!
He's completely free of the umbilical cord and what was left of the sack.
Still very small compared to the others in the clutch.

Looks like you have something good going on there.
I would repeat the pairing next season just to see and as stated hope this one is a male.

Aw, hope your special little guy does well for you and hope it's a little boy. Glad to hear he seems to be good other than being smallish.

The rest were 3 regular fires, and 7 normals. One of the fires died before it came out of the egg. It had a kink right behind it's head. So besides hitting the lottery with that lucy, our odds were not very good at all.

Looks like a Super Fire but just considering the conditions, I personally wouldn't make the call until he's proven out or you get the mom to produce some more Fire things for you. I'm not sure if you've answered this already but is this the first year you've had her breeding for you?

Considering the momma, maybe those 7 aren't quite so normal after all. Whether mom is carrying a compatible gene or it's one of them null thingamajigs, seems to me you have a nifty project in the works. Congratulations on the clutch and good luck!

The baby hasn't shed... The rest of the clutch has. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't worry about it just yet. My last clutch had one that didn't shed for 70 days, though it ate much sooner than that. She is now my biggest girl out of the four that I kept from that clutch!

it happens, some hatchlings will miss their first shed, so don't be concern about it. she'll shed the next time. good luck with her don

How did I miss this thread until now. Congrats on the lottery and thank you for sharing this with us. I learned a great deal from the input on this thread. Genetics does some incredible things.

I have a small collection of banded wild-type females, my friend thinks I'm nuts for loving them so much. Can't wait to show him this thread. Congrats on the little Miracle, no matter how much we think we have His ways figured out we always find out who is REALLY in control.
