Not surprising. We already had so much in common already.

"The Illusionist": Great, great movie. Kept throwing me for a loop at every turn.
"Hidalgo": I loved this movie; not just because it's epic and I love horses, but that it's a true story too.
"Working Girl": Kind of a chick-flick, but still good. And who doesn't like Harrison Ford? (he's like my top famous-person crush)
"Death at a Funeral": NOT the new Tyler Perry-esque version; the ORIGINAL one. If you like dark humor this one is tops.

I've got a few favourite movies :D
LOTR Return of the King-- no expanation required
Spirited Away-- reminds me of my little sister
My Neighbour Totoro-- I cry like noones business in this one
Bourne Identity-- MATT DAMON
Cinderella Story -- Hilary Duff is my guuuurl
Sense & Sensibility (the Emma Thompson version)- I loooove Jane Austen and while it isn't away true to the book, she did a good job with it
Pride & Prejudice (the Colin Firth version)- When I was younger, I'd always ask myself what Lizzie Bennett would do

No, I am your father!
Mike, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power.
If you only knew the power of the South Side...

I'm a bit of a movie junkie, so I could go on for a while, but..
Shawshank Redemption
Jaws
LOTR
The holy trilogy
Shaun of the Dead
....

Re: What is your favorite movie?
First off Mike you said "A Walk to Remember is a good movie too. Definitely not a chick flick." Dude it is so a chick flick, I cry every time I see it and it was written by Nicholas Sparks who writes books for women to boohoo over.
Ok now to my list:
Any Nightmare on Elm Street movie & Freddy vs. Jason (not the new Nightmare on Elm St b/c it was sacrilegious to remake it without Robert Englund or Wes Craven so I do not recognize it as part of the series at all!!)
Man From Snowy River (I have seen 50 or more times, never gets old)
Center Stage (I have seen at least 20 times, best song in it is remake of Higher Ground by Red Hot Chili Peppers; love it for the dancing)
Any of the Step It Up movies (especially 3 where Moose is one of the main characters, LOVE him and the dancing)
Now I am going to go really really old school on you guys:
Father Goose (Cary Grant, Leslie Caron)
Cowboy and The Lady (Gary Cooper, Merle Oberon)- This is my absolute all time favorite movie and it is from 1938. I own the vhs tape and I have seen the movie too many times to count, the theme of the movie has been reused is current movies today over and over again. Here's what it's about http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0030018/plotsummary

Re: What is your favorite movie?
You guys (Mike and Rob) are pointing out reasons why it is a chick flick; you two just happen to be in touch with your female side and can hack seeing those movies with girls unlike some people I know (**cough, cough** Mason hates them!!).
Sorry about your upsetting early years Mike, if I had only known (**tears**) you may have turned out to be a better man, like Landon (at least at the end of the movie).
-
Re: What is your favorite movie?
Fight Club
Donnie Darko
Garden State
Little Miss Sunshine
EDIT: Really can't grasp this whole "pick ONE" concept. ;)

I've let out more emotions in one bowel movement than landon has in his whole lifetime! I wouldn't have been a jerk to her in the first place. Who *wouldnt* wanna "get some homework help" after school from Mandy Moore?!

Not only is this movie AMAZING, I don't think people quite get just how AWESOME the riding is in it. The scene where he chases the Mob over the cliff? Every time I see it I'm speechless!!!

I think I might have just fallen in love with you! Jaws and Shaun of the Dead in one list!!!!
Also I have to add a couple to the list:
Hot Fuzz
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
And Jurrasic Park will forever remain a favourite of mine, I saw it at least 12 times in theaters.
I have loved Jaws since I was 5 years old. That movie is what instilled my love of sharks!

I'll try to add a few, with variety, that haven't been listed yet. The following movies I thoroughly enjoyed growing up:
Willow
Hopscotch
Princess Mononoke
Some Like it Hot
Dragonslayer
The Court Jester
The African Queen
The Inspector General
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels(the "remake" one with Caine and Martin)
And even though it's been listed just a few above I have to second Errol Flynn as Robin Hood - none of the other Hoods compare in my opinion, not even close.
