Thanks for being there for me!

I don't know how to "ping" everybody who helped me get through this so I've been trying to thank everyone who finds the thread again.

In case I missed anybody, there is NO WAY I can *ever* express my gratitude for your support, prayers, vibes and shoulders to cry on.

I would not have gotten through this ordeal without y'all.

    Thanks!

    This is his new penitentiary:

Haven't decided what to do the outside yet.

Maybe some Trompe L'Oeil stone walls and a "Jail" sign?

    :D

I have to ask hon, how secure are those sliding locks ?

I've seen them, but I am not sure how ideal they are for snakes. I think I'd use at least two. I wouldn't put anything past that boy!

And maybe hasps at each end where the glass and frame meet. I'd be so paranoid he'd get out again.

On first glance, I thought there was a turtle in that viv  because of how hie head is poking out in front of that gray rock thing.

Such great news! And now you know there's no such thing as "hopeless!"

Happy reunion to you and Alice.

    Really
I am so happy for you!!! I know EXACTLY how you feel since I've been where you are (with a tiny blue phase green iguana last year who was missing OUTSIDE for TWO WEEKS!)

I am so happy that he is home safe and sound!

Much better than his previous 'cam locks' which had the locking catch inside the tank.
If the key was in the lock, the catch could be turned.
    [which he figured out]

    This lock has nothing inside.
It's screwed to one sliding pane and restrains the other.

Even if it's accidentally left unlocked, he'd have to figure out how to slide both panes in opposite directions, at once.

No need to worry about the ends.

The front panes slide 2 inches into "pockets" created by the double framed front.

[the panes are mounted inside 'tracks']

There's 2 inches of 1/2" acrylic pane on each end that you can't see because it's inside the 'pocket' created by the frames.

Out of several versions, this 'lock up' was the most secure idea we had.

[and yes, we took his uncanny 'talents' into account]

    :)

Oh, he was looking alright...for weaknesses in the house.....:D

    I hope he's happy, now.
He's taking up a good chunk of my living room.

When he stuffs himself inside of it and lays with his head poked out, he looks exactly like a scrawny necked turtle.

Those are the biggest size of that particular hide and they're what he prefers so he's kinda stuck with them.

Heaven knows I was bottoming out in the hope department.

Even hubby admitted, after the fact, that he was secretly fearing the worst due to the way the house is made.

    *whew*

What a nightmare ride this was.

[and I hope I never have to do it again!]

I think you should put grey bars down the front of the viv for a month or two, so he knows he's in jail :P

    LOL.....get out of my head!

I was considering running strips of gray pin striping tape down the front of the windows.

    :D

[if it were October, I'd go the Halloween store and get one of those tiny little skeletons with shackles for his wall]

    Miss Brie
yay so happy! I actually was talking to my roommates about this the other day! I thought Blaine had wandered off because I got distracted watching a movie and I got so scared. Turned out he was just curled up in the hood of my sweatshirt (I felt something heavy on my back when I stood up  I told them all about your story and how sad I was for you and how I'd cry for weeks if I lost my boy.

I'm so glad I came back on here to check on your hunt, and that you found him alive and well!
    Congrats!
