Thanks everyone. I'm hoping, but trying not to get TOO hopeful if ya know what I mean. I would love to see 5 healthy snakes hatch out, but I also feel like I'm going to have a 60 day uphill battle with the eggs. When they dropped, the eggs all got jostled really hard and they all got wet. I dried them off the best I could and put them back in the egg box. I'm going to go after work tonight to pick up some anti-fungal powder as recommended by Deborah in case any fungus or mold starts to develop. I think my egg box needs some tweaking too as I noticed some condensation on the outside of the eggs last night. I think I'm going to try to candle again tonight to see how they're doing, and probably will have to put a hole or two in the egg box to vent it a bit... Hoping the moisture doesn't hurt them, but I'm gonna fight these suckers until the end if they try to turn bad on me...

I'm very sorry for your loss and thank you for the documentation.

If it helps put your mind at ease at all with the crash disaster, I once accidently knocked over a tub of freshly laid dragon eggs (tub was poorly balanced :slamhead:) and they all hatched fine. Reptile eggs, especially fresh ones, are surprisingly resilient.

Whoa.. my heart goes out to you. What a bittersweet situation. I'm so sorry for your loss. Hope all the eggs hatch beautifully well, and all babies are healthy.

I hope I never have this to deal with, but your experience is at least helpful information.

I am heartsick but hopeful for you in the loss of your beautiful female, and the success of her clutch. I can only imagine how devastated you are, but appreciate your photos of the process of trying to save the eggs! Good thoughts going out your way...

Thank you for documenting this. It's heartbreaking to see a situation such as this but it is a strong reminder that, as with any animal you may choose to breed, there are risks that you are choosing to take. I feel that many people who get into breeding do not fully understand that their is always this possibility. I formerly bred Miniature Donkeys and dealt with several fatalities myself. It's not always easy and problem-free, no matter the size of the creature. Hopefully your experience will educate many, as it has myself. I appreciate you taking the time to share. That is not an easy thing to do.
I hope they emerge alive and well. Good luck to you and your wife with this clutch!

ugh good for you for trying to recover the eggs, and I'm sure you've done everything possible to try to save her... I had something very like this happen last year, unfortunately the "seemingly" healthy eggs turned neon green within a week of incubation... :( So sad!

Sorry I haven't been around in a while to update this. Unfortunately none of the eggs survived. Kinda like the last poster said, within a week the eggs were discolored and smelling bad. Two candled with very weak veins so I took out the others, gave them a couple days, candled again and nothing...

Thanks to everyone who followed this post. Hopefully it's been informative at least, even if this may further support that eggs aren't viable unless they are passed through the cloaca. I can't say that I wouldn't try again though if this same situation came up. With the added variable of the egg box being dropped, I don't know for sure which factor was the true cause...

Here's to better luck next year...
