    :(

OCD is easy for me because I actually am OCD.

[that sucks as a "lifestyle" but it does make you a vigilant animal keeper...sometimes too much so]

If I were you I would get her treated ASAP and bump the temps up for everyone to help avoid anyone else getting it. Keep a close eye on everyone, I'm not sure if you need to treat anyone else unless they are showing sign, that would be a question for an experienced vet.

    Everybody's bumped up a bit.
They can always move to the cooler side if they don't like it.

I've never "cooled" intentionally but there was the 2 [3?] day span before I discovered my heating wasn't working right.

I have to wonder about the poster who said it was probably coming on for a long time.

The day I got her at the show, she was very cold and I had to hold her on my lap on the long way home because my heated snake carrying pack was already full.

I have no idea what her previous life was like but she was a breeder and for all I know, she'd been "cooled" right up until I got her.

She's never been a 'thriving' snake like my others.
Offish, picky eater, nervous, not people oriented.

A snake rack breeder her whole life, probably and I don't even know how old she is.

I am sorry you are going through this.

I know you are getting a LOT of conflicting opinions on the humidity thing. One says high, the other says low. It can't be helping you right now.

I to had to deal with an RI, a very severe one in a female rescue who had been left in an empty house to freeze to death.

This is what I did and what worked for me. I quarantined her at once. I always checked on her last, and became obsessive about hand washing. I bumped up her temperatures a few degrees, and raised her humidity to around 85%. We went to the vet and got injections of antibiotics. Giving a snake a shot is not fun, but it can be done. For the first round of antibiotics, she was kept on high humidity. Which was recommended by my vet to keep the mucus thin so she could breathe easier. Low humidity make the mucus thicker and more difficult to clear.

For her second round of antibiotics, which the vet gave me at my request because I didn't feel she was completely over the RI, I lowered the humidity back to normal. It took a full month for her to get over it completely once I started her on medication. And she it took another three before she ate again. However, once she was back to eating, she got better fast and is breeding for me this year.

I wish you and your babies all the best.

    Thank you Gale!

She's at a higher humidity with a bit of 'vaporub' in her tb and the crud coming out of her is already down to a watery consistency versus that horrid slime of early this morning.

The nose bubbles have lessened and the watery stuff is dripping out of her mouth when she sticks out her tongue.

I'm hoping the easier it comes out the easier she'll breathe.

    I have Baytril coming Monday.
Just gotta keep from going insane until then.
[not easy to do when I'm really not that sane to start with]....

Now Iggy's scaring me because she's sprawling out and 'breathing fast'....I think......but she also just ate a huge meal last night.

Might not be a bad idea to put a vaporizer in the snake room.

She's in the living room with me.
Do you mean for the other snakes?

I have humidifiers but no vaporizers.

I can add a little vapo to the humidifier, though.
