Do you find it attractive when Girls/Guys own reptiles?

It is definitely a big plus for me! Prior to my current boyfriend, all of my exes have been not so understanding of my small collection of snakes:( This is one of the reasons why i decided to try a long distance relationship with a wonderful man who i met through a different reptile forum. To me, the knowledge that he understands my love and fascination with snakes just makes him more attractive to me. We also have so many other things in common, it's scary.

I'd say yea. Its a great connection to have imo. But depends on how into it they are too and what it is- like if its an anole im like oh. but things like monitors or snakes or cooler things im like o0o0o0oh, tell me moreeee...! lol

Shoot yeah I do. I also like Girls shooting guns though..lol :D:banana::gj:

I don't know if I could call it an attraction because they have reptiles/ other animals, but more of an attarction that they have a caring side for animals.

since i have gotten into reptiles my g/f has. and after x -mas she is gonna buy her first snake, a lil albino corn.

If Big Gunns ever sees a woman with a snake he's running as fast as he can out the closest door or window.:rofl::rofl:

Now if she has a pet leeeezard, BG might give her a call.:P:D

I would rather date a girl that thinks my animals are cool and what not, but doesn't own any herself, we all know how much money and time can go into these guys, I don't want 2 people doing it lol....and of course im dating a girl that breeds bearded dragons even before I met her, she spends alot of time maintaining those guys.

I am attracted to the person of who she is rather than what she owns. And I will get to like what she owns after I am really attached to her.

I find it attractive! A sexy lady with a sexy snake! Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......

I don't see it affecting my attraction.. Interesting yes, a nice "in" to a conversation, yes.. but the animals a person likes does not affect any "attraction" for me.

Well, considering all of my exs gave me crap about having reptiles. Actually finding a boyfriend who at least appreciates them, or owns them would be awesome for once. Its hard when you can't talk about your favorite hobby with the one person you should be able to tell everything to, because they just don't care.

Reading some of the posts by the guys in this thread, it's amusing because I almost dated a guy once... but he decided he didn't want a girlfriend who is into reptiles, too.. because he wants it to be his own thing. Oh well. Haha.

Love it when a man loves my group. I can say though in my neck of the woods when I say I breed reptiles for a living I get looked at like I've got three heads. IMHO if you can't deal with my ball pythons and others get out. It's my entire life so... Love me love my snakes!!!

Well, I'm a girl and I own a ball python. I've had a couple guy friends say that women who have snakes are, "sexy". Probably like how some women described as exotic are also described as sexy, owning an exotic pet makes people seem sexier?

Sometimes while my boyfriend watches me take care of my ball python or play with him he calls me cute. However, it seems like if you care for any pet in a loving way it's cute to some men since it shows some sort of mothering instinct? I've asked him about it before, because I felt like he was making fun of me and he just told me he thought it was adorable how I care so much about my snake.

I'm not really sure if I find men who own reptiles attractive. However, I guess I would say yes since I find reptiles interesting and I guess that would also lead to me becoming interested in that person (Not necessarily sexually). Some people are also just interested in things they don't know about, while others just don't want to get involved with things they don't know about.

I think it's attractive because it's something we have in common. My last boyfriend disappeared because I have snakes. He was terrified of them. If you can't stand my snakes and parrots, we won't be compatible.

My gf doesn't "love" my snakes and dart frogs, but she doesn't hate them either. She's very supportive of my hobbies....as long as I'm not spending all my money on them to the point of being broke. I told her a few months ago that when I can actually get back into balls that the first pair I'm buying will cost about $3k together (1.0 bee het red, 0.1 clown) maybe even $5-6k so I can get another female clown, and all she said was she hopes I know what I'm doing, she's here to support me and hopes I can make my money back when I do breed them. She's seriously the best girl in the world. :)

Just think it gives somebody a little added extra to their personality :) Had a bit of a thing for a girl back in Devon who was snake mad... :D My other half wasn't a reptile lover when I met him and now he's totally converted and got our new male living with him :) I was in love with him beyond belief before, and him sitting chatting to me about all things ball python is just like...*blushdroolswoon* XD Plus the majority of his family (that i've met) are reptile mad and love our BPs :D

I don't know about "attractive", because attraction for me would be entirely about the person and not what he owns. But I certainly wouldn't mind if the guy has reptiles or at least a pet of some sort, because it shows responsibility! Particularly with reptiles though. There's so much to know about them and special attention needed in areas that common pets don't have.

Recently I posted a new Facebook photo, where I had a snake (Kipling the JCP) on my head... the guy I'm dating sent me a message, asking "is it weird that I find pictures of you & your snakes really sexy?" Of course I told him no, it's not weird at all. :D

I can't say a man owning snakes makes him more attractive to me, but it does imply we'd have something in common. I still have an active OK Cupid account, and just the other day it said somebody named "kalikingsnake" was checking out my profile - which definitely piqued my interest, even though I'm not really looking now! He also happened to be a redhead (like me), so I almost felt like he might be my soulmate... LOL.

I tend to take it as a sign that they are open to "different" experiences, which counts with me. Even if they down own them, being willing to learn about them (in moderation) is a plus. I went out with a guy a frew times that was afraid of snakes, which I didn't fault him for. However, at one point he asked if I was scared they would escape and strangle me. I responded by asking him to just let me show him one (while still in her tub), so he would know the size we were talking about (I only have BPs right now). "No, no, no, you promised I didn't have to!" Really? Come on, man up... And no, he's never been bitten or had someone close to him be injured by a snake. That was the last time we saw each other.

I love anyone that loves animals, warm or cold..blooded that is lol

On a side note, the fiancee said no to snakes immidiatly, but as soon as she saw it he was "the cutest lil guy shes ever seen"

Its very attractive to see someone able to care for somthing thats completley different from them. It shows their open, perceptive, and kinda wierd, all good qualities

All I can say is scroll through THIS 105 PAGE (and growing) THREAD and I bet you'll have a hard time saying "no" to that question.

That depends. Are they hot to begin with? If not, then no. If yes, then yes.

I think you might find the sampling pool a little biased for this poll...

If they're attractive and they have reptiles, that's a double bonus for me. I'd probably be more likely to approach you as well (and then go on forever about my snakes). :D

Very well said, i tend to agree with this. It would be a cool common starting point but i would never be attracted to someone just bc of the amount of snakes or herps they have. Its not likes sports fan loyalty. If i meet a girl who says Patriots suck, go Jets... then it wouldnt be able to work out. lol :p
However, if i ever meet a girl and she has a basement full of 100s of snakes then yea maybe id have to make an exception lmfao

I've never actually considered anyone attractive or unattractive due to something they owned...

Wouldn't say I find it attractive that they may own a reptile, but girls who like them as much as I do certainly helps the relationship.

Such as my soon to be fiance, she thought snakes were gross before I bought my first ball python, (thanks to WingedWolf) and now she absolutely loves them. She thinks baby balls and cresteds are the cutest things ever.

If a girl is open minded about my reptile collection or reptiles in general, then thats awesome and rare to find in my experience. I dont think I could spend the rest of my life with a girl who absolutely HATES my snakes, but then again, how would I know who Im going to end up with :D?

There may be some stereotypes in this post. No disrespect jus stuff I've noticed. I'm not into tattoos at all. And by that I mean I hate them. And generally girls (and dudes, but I'm into girls lol) who like snakes have tattoos so by proxy I don't usually find them attractive. However my fiancé was the one who suggested we get a snake in the first place and she has no tats. Also she loves football. I don't know how I scored her but I'm sure glad I did! We are gettin married in August if anyone wondered. Are engagement shoot is coming up and we guna add snakes into them so keep a eye out! However a non tattooed girl holding a snake is AWESOME. Keep in mind, I don't hate people who HAVE tattoos, I just don't like the ink. Don't hate me for this post please. I don't know why I don't like em, I just dont. Thanks for reading.

Okay. I am the fiance in question here so I just have to say something. Its because of me that he even WATCHES nfl at all (he was always a cfl guy). I converted him into a Pats fan, because I'm a Pats fan. And usually I'm the one who makes him cancel plans to watch the games. Maybe stereotypically girls are lying about this, but let me tell you--I am not one of those girls.

Lol it was a light hearted comment. But yes you are a rare breed, and even better you are a Pats fan :)

Just adding to the thought process to an old point -

If someone is attracted to a person just because of what they own it's the wrong foundation for anything. It can be a cool ice breaker but the real world application is not the same. Keep in mind, nearly anyone can look up husbandry information and go out and pick up an extra sexy GTP or ETB and put it on display to try and attract a mate.

As for as myself is concerned, a girl who owns snakes is not as big of an attraction point unless they are into the biology behind all of it. I've dated keepers, breeders, lovers, and haters of snakes, but when it came down to it the only ones that mattered were those who were into the biology side of things which is where my passions truly lay. If you have a passion for the sole purpose of keeping, and you find someone who is the same, the attraction could be genuine, however, if you its just a keeper meets keeper story, be careful you may just be experiencing that new snake high.
