So sorry to hear about this little girl. No matter the outcome you've done a great job giving her a chance. Hope she is still getting stronger by the day.

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what you're going through. I hope the little girl makes it, but if not, she fought with everything she had, and so did you.
You are such a compassionate person. Most people I don't think would have had the strength to watch her suffer at first in the hopes that she lives a good life.

Thanks for asking :) I'm trying not to let myself get too consumed by her. Got LOTS of other hatchlings to take care of too.

She is hanging in there. Her clutch mates have already shed and eaten their first meals. She tho refused to eat, and still has not shed. She is pretty much acting like a normal hatchling now but is VERY skinny. If she refuses again after the next feeding attempt , then I will assist her.

just weighed her. She is 32 grams.

Her sister is 80 grams.

Poor girl. I'm pulling for her. Come on baby!

happy to hear she is still hanging on i read another forum someone saying chicken egg yolk by syringe if they dont absorb their yolk but would it maybe help her idk just a though

If you get a chance, could you post a pic of her w/ her clutch mates? I'd like to see the size difference.

anymore news on the little one

She is now close to being a normal hatchling... but still very small. she refused a hopper mouse left in overnight two times, so I killed the hopper and put it in her mouth. The second I put it in her mouth she started swallowing..... so she is hungry, she just hasn't figured out the whole strike / constrict thing.

This is a picture of her cinny sister. you can see the obvious size difference. It is not so obvious in the picture but Cherio is a totally different color then her sister... The yellows are much whiter, and the black is like more of a blushing color. Don't know if that is due to the rough start, or something genetic.... but she is definately different.

I am rooting for this baby as if she were my own. I forever check the board for updates on her.

I hope she gets stronger and figures out how to eat like a good baby.

I have always heard if they loose their yolk like that to use an eye dropper and give them chicken or even better duck egg yolk. For instant protein.

She is still hanging in there... she is about to shed, and i am pretty excited about that because I believe this will be her FIRST SHED!!!! Can't wait to see what she looks like under there!

Still hasn't eaten on her own, but again immediately swallowed a dead asf hopper placed in her mouth.
